    Default Jon Arryn's funeral

At the beginning of autumn, Jon Arryn had taken sick, and died only two weeks after. Today is the funeral of this brave man, and the coronation of his heir as the next lord of the Vale as well.

Lord Henryk rides in with his nephew, the two are alone

They begin to ascend up The Eyrie

Arriving at the top, Lord Henryk and Ser Travers give their horses to some stableboys and enter the Eyrie, noticing the many guards dressed in black. There are no smiling faces in the Eyrie on this day

Maegor Baratheon, escorted by the Kingsguard, arrives to give his regards to the Arryns and the death of Jon, who had been a loyal friend and supporter to his brother Robert during the War of the Usurper. He walked into the area where the funeral was to take place.

The King was seated just next to the widow Jon had left behind.

The Stark men are led to the burial site, and seated on the front row.

Gullian Swann rode his chestnut colored horse near the funeral gates. He was let into the funeral grounds, by the guards, and he took his seat a few rows behind the front. Gullian had known Jon Arryn to be a honorable man and when he was told of the terrible incident of his death, he was truly sorry for not just his family's loss, but the kingdom's loss. He didn't feel comfortable in his night black noble clothing with the sun beating on him, but he was respectable enough to wear the right clothes.

Maegor approaches Lady Arryn. He bows to her.

Lady of the Vale, I am terribly sorry for your loss. Jon Arryn was not only a great and trusted friend of my brother Robert, but a true supporter to his cause...and a man of great talent and ability. Westeros cries today, sad to lose such a talented man. And the Seven will accept him into the heavens above...with a rightful place worthy of his abilities.

Lord Roose Bolton and a very small entourage arrived soon before the ceremony as they came to the Vale via ship through the Three Sisters.

The funeral began. Bards played a sad song, the chest was closed, and four Arryns began carrying the chest. Ronnel Arryn, Robert Arryn, Elbert Arryn and Harrold Hardyng gave Jon's body to the earth. The Septon did his duty by giving the last blessing, and then, Jon's wife spoke about his life. After the funeral ceremony, the crowning ceremony began. Robert Arryn sat on one knee, and the Septon gave him the title of Defender of the Vale, Lord of the Eyrie and Warden of the East. A cloak with the Arryn hawk was hung across his shoulders, and one by one, the lesser lords came to swear their fealty to Robert. Then, Robert rose as the new leader of the noble House Arryn.
