Is it possible to "Research Research" In the campaign?
No, but you can try and get tech from other nations via diplomacy.

Thanks man
The team seems to update versions of this mod faster than any other ive team ive seen. Which is awesome. Would it be prudent to wait for a major release, before starting a campaign? If so, will the next release be in the not to distant future?

Long life for this mod and the modder![]()
The next update will be 3.4. In there are complete new features which are very complex.
This means That this update will take a longer time compared to previous updates.
So you are fine to start a long campaign now.![]()
It´s a pleasure to here that the hard work putted into this piece was worth it.
In return i wanna say a big thanks to all who give us feedback, kind words, reputation and donations.![]()
Thanks, duly noted.

Yes it is planned. With other names, appearance and other functions.
Does researching tech have and advantages in campaign and battles? I know that buildings can be constructed without the usual technology needing be researched, but in battles would the tech 'carbines' for example benefit my cav units? Or is the whole tech/research system worthless in the 3.3 mod?
Great mod by the way! Very enjoyable! Kudos!
In the actual version research would hurt the balance. A real civil war techtree is planned for 3.5
Wow you guys are really out-doing yourselves.
Without aggrevating you guys, is the an estimated release date or is it pretty much in the distant future?
-Either way you can bet your bottom dollar I'm downloading it.
in 2.6 we had the option to build wooden forts, will this option be available in further versions? This helps in the defense of choke points on the campaign map that way you don't have to have big armies focused on defending. Right now in my current CSA campaign I have 3 full stacks defending Virginia, when I played 2.6 I would have 5 forts with 5 infantry regiments(2 regular or zouaves, and 3 volunteer reg.) Depending on the fort being assaulted I would get reinforcements from Richmond or from any of the other forts. So here is my layout
3.3- 3 full stacks= 60 units
2.6- 5 forts+Richmond garrison, and reserve artillery/cavalry= 35 units
So forts in my case would lower the amount of troops needed for defense, and would free up 25 units or 1 full stack for the offensive in another theater of war like in Missouri and Michigan.
Also in my current campaign, it is in summer 1864 and it is a pure stalemate I send my 3 full stacks in to attack the unions 3 full stacks+ multiple half stacks. Once I march foward they intercept my armies and I stand at the defense and they attack my lines. At the end of 40 minute battles it is a draw due to me not being able to kill off all their units and vice versa for them. It is very interesting lol. As for my other theaters Kentucky is heavily contended my 3/4 stack is building up alot of exp. from defending against wave after wave of Northern soldiers. I've successfully captured Missouri and waiting for my frontier army to return from Nebraska to march on Michigan. I believe my stalemate in the east will come to an end once my 2 western armies put pressure on New York and split up the armies guarding D.C.
Performance Version 3.4 will hit in a few days. Version 3.5 which adds a lot of stuff will need some time, to declare now a release date would be only bad for us, the version and in the end you.
No problem, wooden forts will be back then.in 2.6 we had the option to build wooden forts, will this option be available in further versions?![]()
hooray for forts!!!
