No immediate plans for release of UI layout files and uncompiled .lua files, maybe sometime later (read: never).

Supposedly lua no longer used for Rome 2, only ETW/NTW/S2.

Interesting, waiting on more info about tools and this campaign reprocessing thingmajig.

I have my hopes that any tools released for Shogun II will carry over to Rome II or at least be reprogrammed by CA for that purpose. I dont expect them to reverse engineer for ETW but anyway...

If they won't use it for next title, when they "protect" it and not release it?

I don't suppose they plan to make a new DLC/expansion for NTW, or even S2, now that they have started with R2?

Tools for generating .cs2.parsed and .cuf files will probably be included in tomorrow's kit.

There's no sound bank stuff in the kit.

All source code for Rome etc. was lost, so probably no support for .sav ever.

I am looking forward to seeing a positive outcome on this day.
Shogun can be used for mod practice while we wait for the big one!

Thanks for asking. May be Crux3D can come again to fix symphony and unit voices.. If anyone knows how to contact him beside a PM here (I did that, no result).

Do they plan to answer the questions (ex: file I sent to Craig) later, in the wiki?

Did they explain their process to generate a campaign map?

Wiki is meant to be the central point for asking such questions. They have some idea that community will prioritize requests, so they know what to focus on, but don't expect too much.

Ok someone at CA or whoever was responsible needs to take a sword to the stomach for that . By a sword I mean a weeks pay cut. How do you lose very expensive source codes.

TAW are you just sitting in the office texting on your phone? Is CA cool with this? Your like a spy man. A real 007.

Some vague story about restoring from wrong backup tapes.

It's a pretty big screwup, but then anybody who never lost any data throw the first stone...

Even if they had source code, it would still be a lot of work to get support for .sav format out of that, so it probably still wouldn't happen.

It seems that there's a console feature in debug build. Not of much use to us...

Or you have a rotating back up process to cycle the tapes around... guess they may of learnt that by now.

How can you loose a source code for a professionnal entity... It could have been release free for modders in a few years ? :p

What about the modding of economy/diplomacy ?
