My drawing of the shore was absolutely terrible, but you might get the gist of what I'm depicting. The island is largely plain, though emphasis is really only on the shore; the rest of the island is entirely supplementary.

One annoyance: I can't seem to move my 1-man force, either in the deployment area or when I start the battle. The AI can't move it's 1-man force either! I know it's an issue with this particular map, as the default map for custom battles (I think it's Aki) works fine with these 1-man units. Has anyone had such an issue?

I could try but I havn't been able to figure out how to make the capture points for siege battles yet and havn't tried to make a castle yet but as you can see I've made lots of earthworks in the other two maps.

Maybe I could make it completely out of dirt so I could use the coastal guns because I cant position them on the stone fort walls. I've tried also making some redoubts but the wall was too high and is there a way I can change the water level so I don't have to change the level of the map so I can add water to the ditches infront?

Inspired by Nitta Yoshisada's assault on Kamakura - beach map complete with forested hills and a buddha along the shoreline. Plenty of trees for covert action, ambushes and the like.

@robinzx ~ nice ! Can ships be placed on the background ?

I only have time to experiment with TEd tonight. Been a busy week and have got no time to even play games. Hopefully this weekend will be productive.

I've seen Anton placed a Carrack:

If Troops can be stationed inside the ship, its could be a better defense than gatling towers...

    AUG351.
I mean the deployable defense earthworks, just like the bamboo wall or oodate pavise shields. Add some gabionades into the mix and chevaux de frise for barbed wire...
Maybe add Garrisonable Fences to line the earthworks...

    @Erwin Rommel:
I stopped playing historical maps since i saw that... thing (Aizu-Wakamatsu also looks horrible - the best for me is The Battle of Ueno, many garrisonable fences...)

Also there is no earthworks or barbwire, or chevaux de frise in the items you can use but there are walls, hay stacks that look somewhat like chevaux de frise and bamboo walls.

That looks awesome! The costal things dont have much ammo though do they? Or can you change that?

Also, anybody know what the 5th set of coords in the deployment_area.xml file is for?
Edit: scratch that, it needs to be the same as the first one.

Perhaps costal guns should point toward the city, placed on each corner of the map. So the attacker has to capture them to use them to break the fortress walls. It would be quite cool.

unzip them and put them in %appdata%/thecreativeassembly/shogun2/maps

You may need to create the maps folder.

The coastal things make the map look odd. Remove them I suppose the rest is bloody brilliant. Keep up the great work.

I finally was able to put my hands on TEd, 30 gigas to re-download shogun 2 took ages.

It's quite easy to use but hard to master. But I start to do some nice things.

I have a question though, what texture do you use for roads ?

There is in painting, where you can choose grass, mud, stone/sand, forest .... if your landscape is grass. Then you can use stone/sand on small scale and paint a landspace on sand to make roads.

NO! Keep those Coastal Batteries! you just need to embed it into the walls...

Now we're talking...well, the walls are positioned higher, just like Usual Japanese Castle, but not all should be lined with stone wall.
