It's a bit late i know, but i thought i should add, you need to keep your Mp3 bit rates low enough for Rome to decode them. 128kbs seems to work, but 320kbs is too high.

I've tried adding new music while retaining the EB music as well (I needed more variety). It works for Roma Surrectum II and Vanilla but for some reason with EB when I try to load a save game after or start a new campaign I get a CTD. :/ The code and everything isn't broken or missing anything, and the music files are at a low kbs as well.

I followed this tutorial and it only works in Custom Battles. To work in the campaign i had (Rome One-turn) to modify the descr_sounds_music in the Play_Rome_Oneturn folder

'Data' is not a file, it's a folder that contains the TXT file you need.

First of all I wanna thank you for the good tutorial, but I have a problem. For some reason it just doesn't work for me. I do exactly all the steps (even removing/renaming events.dat) but it still doesn't work.

The opening post (step 4) requires you to have ALL the supporting TXT files, else the IDX\DAT files will not generate. May I suggest to try out my Bare Geomod set up which has all the required TXT files (they cannot be unpacked, it's a separate download)? It also is the 'Grand Campaign' with kingdoms capabilities so you are not missing out on anything if you intended to modify your main game (which is a horrid idea to start with). Else use the set up to test your ideas\this tutorial.
