Dunno prices back then, but with the lands you control (greece and the east) you should have more than enough money for......anything.

Not in RS2 it wouldn't. Due to the way the economy is balanced.

Totally worth it for a recreation of Alexander's conquests!

Maybe post 2.6, but before that you'd be swimming in enough money to have as many armies you like and still have most of your cities with buildings queue.

atleast you have something to do instead of clicking next turn every 5 min.
im hitting the money script for the last 50turns or so,if that was not there i think i hit one million by now

That's interesting considering buildings post 2.6 are quite expensive, between 20-50k. Now picture more than 10 cities with a few of those buildings.

It's been like 30 years since the Romans were exterminated like so many flaming pigs. In it's place, the United Greek Hegemony is rising.

Teach me how to conquer the Sahara, I implore you. It has been my dream as the Ptolemaics to conquer all of Africa!

To be more specific, the Terra Incognita region is controlled by the Gotland settlement.

You can look at the minimap up there. Gotland is all the way in the north. It probably should be captured last, doing so earlier can mess up stuff.

Oh well, let me attempt a revival of this thread.

As always, after a break from the mod, it's back to the roots, so here's my 1 turn Spartan campaign on Hard/Medium.

Year is 677 and currently at war with Pontus and Sarmatia. I suspect that, as the picture may indicate, the Gallaeci my join that group.

    Description:
My initial plan was to do a sort of twin kingdoms kind of thing, that is, following the unification of Greece, to head over to Sicily and from there take Hispania, but, as always, things change.

Early roman aggression forced a change of plans. Rome at its peak had, outside of Italy, Gaul, central Germania and the boii territories. Instead of carrying out a conquest right away, that was preceeded by raiding, meaning, blockade of most of their italian ports along with full army raids of Italy aka take their cities, destroy their infastrure (those legion making barracks) and leave.

Shortly after this was acomplished, the full conquest of Italy was undertaken. Yet, that still didnt stop the ocasional roman harassment. To fix this, noticing the Boii were close to extiction, i set out to build a celtic buffer zone over there, so basically i took starting boii towns + noreia from the Romans and gifted to my soon to be allies.

I carried out this plan on the west as well. The Avernii, reduced to what is Britany (?), would soon grow. By this time, the roman armies were made up of antesagni along with mercs, yet, there were a few close calls, since i almost lost my 1st and oldest "legion" (or whatever its greek equivalent is) in southern gaul, but i managed to carve out a state for the Avernii.
Then, soon after, the issue solved itself and the romans were no more.

Yet, this may come to bite me in the bottom, since the expandin boii, the avernii and the Gallaeci (which is an empire on its own), are now at war between themselves, forcing me to pick sides, and that may translate in this (see image).

Meanwhile, the bulk of my armies are focused on the east. With 3 legions there, i pushed Pontus out of Thrace and took half of Asia Minor from them.

In essence, i've made bigger empires, but im not interested in fast and big play, but more of willing to give the AI a chance and help them carve out their own empires as to, maybe, offer me a challenge.

Yes, I know. But when I click on moderation Tools, the option isn't there to stick the thread.

    What? No updates? Disappoint

    33 years later

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

... im basically at war with all the major playes: Gallaeci, Boii, Parthia, Pontus, the Ptomelaic Empire. Minors include Armenia. Some back and forth diplomacy action, which i took no part in, made me neutral with the Sarmatians.

Anyway, after essentially carving out an empire for the Boii, these savages stabbed me in the back. Massalia remains as my most western border, but that is about to change as the proper barracks have been built there.

The current turn started with the Ptolemy attack. I was moving armies west to deal with the Boii, but i guess i have to recall them back to the eastern front. I was even planing on taking some territories, namely Palmyria, and giving them to the Ptolemies to act as a buffer agaisnt Parthia, alas my plans have forcebly been changed.

Pontus, having lost the heart of their empire, poses no major threat.

Also, whats up with the metokoi(spelling) hoplites having restricted recruitment areas?
