Be careful with the backstabbing Romans, they F'd me up pretty good in my campaign. I was allied with them, after I kicked out Carthage they attacked me. Scum.
Cassius: "Our men at arms have secured the city. We've received representatives from all the best elements. The senate is with us, the knights are with us."
Brutus:"The pontifs, the urban cohorts, the lictors guild..."
Antony: "Oh, the lictors guild, very good. Only rally the bakers and the flute players and you can put on a festival."

Don't worry for those puny romans, they don't stand a chance, I made a politic to always purchase slingers as mercenaries when possible, coz i can't recruit them yet (need mercenary compound on eastern iberic towns first) and also some falaricas. My 1st army is on the bridge west of emporiae and i have 2 peltasts, 2 falaricas and 3 slingers in it, armor like swiss cheese ^^.
If they come by boat i'm not so worried, i have an emergency intervention group only made of cavalry (half stack) parked in the middle of iberia. I can use it to thin the roman ranks before my lighter infantry comes in.

My fleet is growing slowly, but i'm slowed due to punic scum. They've 2 armies on the town north of cirta, so i had to bring my elite army in africa, her first goal was to invade the punic island east of sagunton but my leader died this year and a break for war was made in his honor (just before he embarked with his shiny new army @#"è-"!% !!!).

I plan to crush those armies, raze the town and leave one army to defend my african territories, the other after a quick retrain will go ashore to plunder some valuable cities (massilia, genua, sardica, messana, syracusa...).

I've a 4th army going straight to the gaul's coasts as we speak, murder, plunder and fire are planned as well for some arvernis or belgae cities... just to ensure they don't grow too strong. I might take ireland as a foothold to retrain losses and go back every 3 or 4 seasons 'evil laugh'. And to finish a combined assault of Italy by north through alps and south via Sicily. And always some plunder around greece for example, to maintain a certain 'way of life'.

you can, before you start the game put '-ne' in the field for launch parameters in the launcher, the game will start on full screen but windowed, so you can Alt-Tab safely. I looked for that coz i skype a lot and you can imagine what happens when someone calls me without the -ne parameter

Here is what is look like :

Well it's with the 2.1 version but you see the trick.

As promised the next part of my gaellica campaign :

If you remember i was sieging a fort and the town of Baikor, so first i launch the attack on the fort. The ennemy is outnumbered but his troops are quite heavy so the strengh ratio is even :

The battle was hard and long but i got some slingers inside the fort placed in the back of some spearmen and it was ok.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Directly after this victory i headed towards Gadir, i crossed the way of an archer unit and it retreated just in front of the city :
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The battle was easy of course and with the defenders wiped out the town fell directly :
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

My aim was the town of Tingi so the siege began the season after.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

When the remains of punic lands in Iberia are captured the peninsula will be free of those weaklings. During the securisation of baikor I encountered a small punic army of nearly 1000 men, they were going to avenge Azrubal, who was caught without escort and killed by general Leukon and his guards. After that the way was clear to go further East towards Sagunton and carthago Nova.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I was a bit short but I was not in a hurry.

I sent a spy in Sagunton just before the siege and the luck was with me that day, the spy managed to open the gates !
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I've no screen of this battle but you can imagine what a full stack can do to a half one...

The season after the assaut on carthago nova began, the Punic force was too thin to stand a chance.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

They fought well the general was not in a good mood and decided to massacre and plunder the town :
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Meanwhile a group of bandits emerged near Gadir, hopefully General Mikolaus was here to prevent any threat, especially if the ennemy can take advantage of such mess.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Of course the bandits were no match for some celts who fought Carthaginians not so long ago.

Not so long after all those events a punic Army appeared on the south coast, I noticed it when I tried to move some cavalry to carthago nova, I don't know if they sent it from Africa or if it just appeared by magic (or script). Non the less a bloody battle is going to happen soon in the region :
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I pulled back my troops of course towards Gadir and Tingi, to regroup with the army i sent to secure the river between Tingi and Siga.

That's all for now, the next episode will be about the 2nd battle of Gadir, the siege of Siga and the push in punic lands where a blood bath is going to happen at Hippo regius and the preparations for my raids in the north. Also some intrigue with diplomats mysteriously murdered and another action of my emergency cav group.

PS : another bonus, look well the picture and look for any odd and useless things, mostly concerning parthia and some boars....

I think after you take Sagunton Carthage goes mental and suddenly has armies everywhere, right?

You're right, they always have troops, that's insane. I destroyed 2 armies at Hippo Regius, 1 more further east, the town rebelled (250 ppl in it) and it got 10 units lvl 7 + silver weapon and gold shield. Another army came from carthage and is 'chasing' my army.

I already retreated an army in order to invade the balears and then go back to Iberia to retrain.
I decide to move my 2nd army back west but the way near Hippo Regius is too thin and i got stuck in the town's zone.
The turn after the big army didnt attack but i was still stuck due to a single unit outside the town.
I had to fight my way but the terrain outside the city was awful and the rebels (punics) came to reinforce, I fought 500 archers and i had to climb a big mountain.... I've still 2600 guys left or more, i disbanded the most damaged troops and recruited 2 merc units.

My army in the balear is stuck, a HUGE punic navy is just near the coast and my ridiculous fleet is hiding in the island port, hopefully I've a 2nd bigger fleet coming to the rescue. I was a bit worried but i think i can manage the army that is after me in africa, leave the area, go back to Siga and have some fresh troops from Gadir and Tingi where i have tier 2 barracks.

My economy is suffering a lot but I've my northern army heading for belgae lands. I already crushed 2 rebel armies with very few losses (400 guys in 2 battles) and i'm close to the first belgae city, the problem will be to leave the place with a max of troops and by boat it'll be hard due to 30 rebel boats roaming my north coast.

The details of that will come later, still the end of carthage in Iberia to do and my advance in Punic African lands.

Nice pictures guys. Coz' of some pics that show a lot of ships, i had chosen to manually increase the prices and the upkeeps of all the ships. I think that discourages the A.I. to build them. Just a friendly advice.

No that's terrible advice, you want the AI to spam ships as much as possible. The more ships it has the higher the chance it will do naval invasions.

It ruins the feel for me when i see the campaign map and they are so many useless ships. It feels unrealistic.

I did not know that having many ships increases the chance of naval invasions and i am not so sure about that

I noticed your general served you well samourai, he gained 2 levels, nice. And you still have some troops to at least hold the city

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I do this because i think about ppl ho doesnt have a very good bandwith, and it's not very useful to see the countryside or the sea when i want to show my general and his army...
The pictures i take are quite heavy due to the size of my screen (25") so i work on them to shrink the size.

ColtonCM when you want to post a picture you must have it hosted somewhere on the web before you can post on this forum, you can't take images directly from your computer.

Use at site like imageshack.us, noelshack.com , tons of site like this exist and it's free !
You can after use the direct link to the image and put it with the 'insert image' button, the yellow one with some kind of mountain in the reply window. It will put [.IMAGE][./IMAGE] (forget the dots) in your text with the link of the image between.

I've time to spare so here comes the end of carthage in Iberia and the invasion of actual algeria :

First the 2nd battle of Gadir where General Matugenus who arrived with some reinforcement engaged the Punic force who stopped just near the town :
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The battle was huge and what was left was pretty epic :
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The falaricas (definetly my favourite unit ^^) once in position fire some times and what's left of the ennemy flee.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

A nice victory for the very first true battle of Matugenus.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The arvernis always making odd alliances :
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

A Little view of my financial situation :
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

After completing the army for the invasion Matugenus tried to find the town of Siga in one season but he had to stop just in front of the city:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Meanwhile my assassin managed to kill the Punic diplomat, the one who payed 2 of my units to join Carthage, 1 elite cav 2 silver chevs, and 1 inf. I had to be careful while he was still around cos I move my troops a lot towards my main city when I need to retrain.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

My intervention group had another mission and it went pretty well :
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    I had to it

I sent my assassin with my elite army who embarked near Carthago nova and landed East of Siga, while Matugenus siege the town.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The battle is promising, a sizable punic force is defending, but i decided to wait and starve them, I needed some time to scout with the assassin I brought with my 2nd army, and i saw some disturbing things, but later on that, I preferred to wait until their attempt to break the siege :
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I wasn't camping, i just put my men in order to cover the rams and I pressed on, not my fault if their general try to flank and takes javelins in the face :
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Falaricas entered the game and it was quickly the panic among the defenders, 5 throws on 2 groups of units and it's a mass route :
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

After I got my men pushing in the streets it was time for the slingers to come in action.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The 2 slingers units did almost 25% of the kills for this battle. And of course the losses are minimal:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Here's the reason why it was a good idea to bring my 2nd army :
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

They are pretty scary with at least 8 heavy spearmen in each, some annoying cavalry and lots of archers/slingers etc.

It will be the time for another general to shine but Matugenus glorious victories are not over yet.

When I try to post with a link to my image (using imageshack, imgur, or tinypic) I get this error message from the forums:

Post denied. New posts are limited by number of URLs it may contain and checked if it doesn't contain forbidden words.
I'm pretty sure there are no forbidden words. The URL is giving me the issue. I just joined the forum yesterday, am I not allowed to post URLs until I have a certain amount of posts behind my back? I really wanted to share my Seleucid Empire!
