Since we can't implement a new tech tree, I don't think, all techs should be finished. When we CAN implement techs, I recommend you add things like Repeating Rifles, Armored Steam Warships, Sniper Scopes and Gatling Guns.

Oh, so if Husser is already on the team, then why not temporarily use his mod map, just upgrade the neutrals' territories to the standards of 1860?

We Are, but there is alot of work that is being done, for instance today I have been updating the localization files to come up with decent names for all the regions that we have for now, while not nearly accurate, it is better than the current names.

There are still many things that need to be added for the campaign to be released, part of which is the scripting for it, which I also am working on. Currently the systems I have planned are a Manpower system, for now will just be based per faction, although work is in progress on a region based one.

Also, there will be supplies for each region and building soliders in addition to gold will require firearms and uniforms/gear. These are produced through metal factories and textile factories repectively.

There is quite a bit alos going on in terms of a new map, as well as we will have more textures and models comming out. Also alot more civil war themed parts, like quotes, a complete overhaul of the music that we already had. As well as new solider sounds. We are also working on a few trailers and hopefully add some videos to the game.

Basicly that is everything we are currently working on, and when all that is ready we will be exiting Beta testing and moving on to minor updates, until we can make a campaign.

The next release will contain most if not everything listed above, so it will not be released until then.

But you can expect some new videos and screenshots in the comming weeks.

With the new DLC, the american continent will get some new provinces:

I think thats a good content for the civil war campaign map!

Actually, the best thing that this will provide is more insite into how to mold custom campaigns better.

I have my doubt whether we could use the map, for anything, unless people had the DLC, I will certainly look into our options, because the map would be better, but we would have to make sure to completely change the map so that it cannot be seen as releasing DLC content for free.

I will inquire into this however.

Is the inactivity due to the usage of another forum, website, ect, or is the mod actually dying? And sorry for being the person to post the "Is this mod dead" question, but I was just wondering, as the mod looks really good.

The Mod is currently not working with 1.4, this should be fixed very shortly, so check back for a fix today.

Thank you very much for the offer. If you'll contact either aradiel or chris, they'll be able to work out a deal with you I'm sure.

Firstly does this mod work on 1.4? Because the opening post says it won't, but the post just before me confuses me on that. Secondly, if this mod is used, can you swap back to vanilla without fiddling with the files? Also, do the units in the mod act realistically, besides the rapid dying part that is, do they reload at a resonable rate? eg. vanilla light infantry sat around jamming ram rods into their rifles for 22 consecutive rams before firing. And I read "Artillery is brutally effective" in what way is it so effective, because from what im seeing from the unit sizes, for a 24 man arty crew to be brutally effective vs 400 man infantry units, its either a machinegun-like shrapnel spraying monster, or some orbital ion cannon lol.

We already fixed the problem, as chris said he will update the post once its uploaded, so expect a workable version for 1.4 shortly.

You need to do some file fiddling, in order to restore the game to vanilla, you need to remove the acw packfiles out of your data folder. Not a big deal, as they are labeled properly and are easy to recognize therefor. If you want to play the mod again just move them back.

The unitstats and behavior have been adjusted and tested for dozens of hours, things like accuracy of each unit, reload times and range etc. have been tweaked.

Brutally effective means you can kill 50 men with a single cannistershot. Compared to vanilla they have about 5 times more firepower and higher accuracy.

Cool, but the issue I see there is canister shot's efficiency is based on the depth of the unit, if you had the unit deployed in 2 ranks, would a canister round really kill 50?

No, which is why you should deploy in 2 ranks. But a single shot can kill 50 if the unit is not spread out.

Well if you march your 400 men unit in column formation right in front of a battery and plan to hold a picknic there, you are probably not going to last long. If you go there in a line formation with 2 rows, it will not be as ugly but you shouldnt expect to get past your first sandwich either.
