You should all go to Chickamuaga Chattanooga National battlefield park. I literally live beside the place and its quite epic. Home of The second bloodiest battle of the war. And Chattanooga as one of the most important, as whoever won it controlled the railroads, and Atlanta.

RollTide! And you don't know Beauty until you've seen the trees all along the main road of the park covered in autumn leaves, making an almost artists depiction of orange, yellow, and red. It's rather glorious, but also with the sort of, sad/depressing/mysterious gloomish feeling you get from knowing that thousands of men died right where your standing. It's something else.

Ironically, a few of my Creek ancestors were at the battle of Chickamauga. They served the Florida artillery - sometimes called Perry's, sometimes Marion's, I believe eventually McCant's, but often just "Florida light artillery"...

Itßs a selfe generated map so it was campaign Battle. That was ages ago btw now i have a even better computer which should make for some awesome ACW Screenshoots with GEM Modification and Battlefield Smoke Mod. Maybe even a video if i got the time.

I need some help getting some right settings done. Here are too shoots of the same scenery. The first screenshoot is the normal one without GEM enabled and on maxed out settings while the secound is with GEM enabled also on maxed out settings. The problem i have is that GEM doesenßt look as i want it to be. Mainly because it has a very darke tone and tends to desaturate the colors. The shadows however look much nicer. Does someone have a good GEM setting to use i would realy like that.

I saw this screenie by NCMaster and recalled an account from 2nd Manassas battle. Although that one wasn't in winter, the description fits.

"One heroic Federal officer, Major Andrew Jackson Barney of the 24th New York, spurred his horse up the railroad grade, shouting, "Come on! Come on!" to his troops. Awed by such suicidal bravery, a Confederate cried, "Don't kill him! Don't kill him," but a Southern volley dropped Barney from the saddle, and his frenzied horse dashed into Stafford's lines."

Damn. A salute to that man. And the confederate who cared.
