Can I play online coop of this or any custom campaign mod? Thanks
Unchecking the music box in sound options fixed this problem for me. Maybe a resource usage bug?
Also does anybody know the answer to the artillery bug question the guy keeps asking about regarding canister and shell shot no available in campaign? I also have the same problem. Or is he purposely being ignored because its common knowledge that its that way for one reason or another?
i guess you're talking about my question with that artillery stuff ?! thanks for that, but i dont think that they ignore that.....or better i hope so
It was answered...somewhere...iirc.
The techs will be redone in 3.5 which will fix this.
How Long are we looking for 3.5? A matter of days? Weeks? Months?
Just curious, as 3.4 has been totally playable and great. I eagerly await more greatness.
For sure more then a month. Maybe we make a very big version out of that, then it will take long but after that we have a nearly finished product.
Hello,
Thank you for make this giant effort to update the mod!!!
I have all the time no CTD with your advice for best playing the mod. You have made very good work. The last ACW version had a lot of falls and it looked incomplete. However, now everything functions well and poses to me no problems. I play with Warpath.
I think fix the CTD problems and performance are the best solution. Now this is full playable. I wait for 3.5 and hope for research and ship fights. It needs just still time, however, for it the result is playable.
How does it look then with a German translation ;-)?
Chieftain John K.
Thanks for your words.
Yes, we still have to improve the performance. Beside that there are a lot of things i want to implement before i´ll be satisfied with the end result.
About the translation i´ve planned one, but my time is very limited at the moment.
If you want to offer help about that point you will be welcome.![]()
Oh, you are finished with TATW german 3.2?
Looked before a few days the last time.
Yes i know your work.
A german version for ETW-ACW will be much easier to be done then your previous work. (And this is the only thing which is easier in this ... engine).
We have splitted up the loc file into bg_us_txt.pack and bg_cs_txt.pack.
If you have installed ETW in german you should have a file called patch_de.pack. A copy of this should be a working base for a translation. After that you just have to copy over the lines we have added in both packs and translate them. All other stuff will be then automaticly in german.
First off I want to say thanks for ACW. I just love it.
Does forming on the high ground really matter ?
Does forming in the woods really work ?
Why does it seem when confronting the enemy I sustain more casualties ?
It seems the enemy kicks my but most of the time. Ideas ?
Where can I find some good tactics to use ?
Thank Again
Dave
Yes
Yes
I dont know what you mean by that
practice (use custom battles)
Tactics for this particular game or the civil war in general?

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I have noticed that in single player battles I can use shrapnel shot. However in Campaign mode, I cannot use it for the same piece of artillery.
I am sure this is planned for a future release. But maybe I have done something worng. Is this normal?
I have found bg_us_txt.pack in ETW/ACW/Packs and bg_cs_txt.pack in ETW/data. Patch_ge is installed. In Third Age the text files are several text documents. I could work on them without problems.
But I cannot open txt.packs for ACW usable. I have no programme for it. I would look it with pleasure!
@ claydwg
Thats normal, for now...
@ Chieftain John K.
Well in the old engine a lot of studd was done in txt files, sadly this have changed.
With this tiny programm: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=397597
you can open and edit all packfiles.
Sorry Southerners, you just got whooped - again.

I've noticed that a unit's veteran status makes no change to its unit stats. Is this done on purpose? General Grant was very outspoken about the difference between veterans and new recruits. And it sucks when I lose an auto battle of veteran units against new ones. A veteran army should be unstoppable against a new army. Veteran status should give some change in accuracy, morale or melee combat.
The experience is counted on units. But it´s an vanilla issue that it will be not visible in the unit stats while looking into it on the campaign map. You´ll see the changed stats in battle.
