Thanks for the tip! The added provinces makes this campaign a lot more authentic.

Some major flaws in the beginning of turn events. I would not mind giving a history lesson to greatly enhance facts of the war. It appears you are using some US history class text book, lot of incorrect information. While I downloaded your mod today, I made it to 1862, in which your time line states that "Stonewall" Jackson died May of 1862. Which is incorrect. He died May 10th 1863, 2 months prior to the Gettysburg campaign.
I see you have the US colored troops, but not the CS colored troops........ here are some examples that not only the south incorporated them first, but unlike the US, some regiments had their own colored officers.
The New Orleans regiment referred to may have been that which began with the May 12, 1861 proclamation of Louisiana Governor Thomas O. Moore. The proclamation called for the enrollment of blacks to form an all-black regiment with black officers for the defense of New Orleans. By early 1862, over 3,000 men had joined this regiment, and other black units had been formed as well.
Dr. Lewis Steiner, Chief Inspector of the United States Sanitary Commission while observing Gen. "Stonewall" Jackson's occupation of Frederick, Maryland, in 1862: "Over 3,000 Negroes must be included in this number [Confederate troops]. These were clad in all kinds of uniforms, not only in cast-off or captured United States uniforms, but in coats with Southern buttons, State buttons, etc. These were shabby, but not shabbier or seedier than those worn by white men in the rebel ranks. Most of the Negroes had arms, rifles, muskets, sabers, bowie-knives, dirks, etc.....and were manifestly an integral portion of the Southern Confederate Army."
Not sure if this will ever make it into one of your modded versions, but I could give some in depth information for your events if you would like.
"Patrick Ronayne Cleburne "Every man should endeavor to understand the meaning of subjugation before it is too late... It means the history of this heroic struggle will be written by the enemy; that our youth will be trained by Northern schoolteachers; will learn from Northern school books their version of the war; will be impressed by the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors, and our maimed veterans as fit objects for derision... It is said slavery is all we are fighting for, and if we give it up we give up all. Even if this were true, which we deny, slavery is not all our enemies are fighting for. It is merely the pretense to establish sectional superiority and a more centralized form of government, and to deprive us of our rights and liberties."
--- Maj. General Patrick R. Cleburne, CSA, January 1864, writing on what would happen if the Confederacy were to be defeated
Please don't start with this. It was brought up multiple times, mostly int he now-dead thread The truth about slavery.
The facts are, the Louisiana guard was given NO uniforms and NO guns, they were expected to arm themselves, and they never saw combat. And up until Cleburne's suggestion was taken seriously in LATE 1864, most prominent southerners (ie, slaveowners) vehemently refused to allow blacks to be armed in exchange for freedom
Some blacks may have fought for the CSA, but never in officially enlisted roles, and the first ever all-black CSA regiment, which indeed was pushed for by General Cleburne, never saw combat simply because they hadn't finished training by the time the war ended. Even then, they were extremely few in number.
I'd suggested in another thread that these Cleburne regiments be available to CSA players if they survive past April 1865, but I wouldn't know how reliable they'd be, given the fact they were black and that when the Union came to Richmond, they openly welcomed Union forces in
Lysander waited; the fruit fell. None may take this from him, that
he gained for his country and her allies that triumph which no
other had proved capable of securing over thrice nine years of war.
Thanks mates, we are aware about the wrong date of jacksons dead and it will be corrected.
as to the whole black troops for Confederacy issue, I think we can call it a day on that one. there is not much new info you can give to us. trust me, we have done our homework and gone through great number of resources... it is hard to please every member of this community...
for now, our logic is going along these lines:
1) Union Black troops were recognized on FEDERAL level and were supported by the United States of America
2) Confederate government (until 1865) considered introducing black troops to the Confederate Army. Implementation of blacks (free&slave) in the South never went above individual States (such as Tennessee, Louisiana etc). Even after the War, ALL of the members of CONFEDERATE government (Davies's Cabinet) disputed any use of BLACKS in the Confederate Army.
rest assured that some form of black troops will be available to CSA, but this is currently not that high on our priority list.
I would like you not to chase this any further. if you have any cool information and a will to post it, please do so in our Historical research thread...
thank you

With no misrespect, i very appreciate this mod but i report what looks like a "bug" : a black texture on battle in the first screen,
The second is that i personnaly prefer socket_bayonets to plug_bayonets, why :
- the second is not historical accurate,
- it is very frustating to cannot "unfix" them.
However, very good works.![]()
The black texture is strange, should be a very rare bug, because i enver seen it till now.
About the bayonets we had to do a compromise, it´s clear that plugs are not accurate, but people often wanted to active fix bayonets and this type is the only one who allow us this feature. Also keep in mind that permament bayonets would be even more historic incorrect as they where usually fixed only when needed and not always on.
They are the last weapon for your unit when ammunation is empty or you need to send the unit into a heavy melee fight. It´s a tactival element to decide.
Is it just me, or do troops get tired from running much quicker on the mod? If they do, why's this? I don't have a problem with it at all, just curious.![]()
Version 3.4 is released. Downloadlink in the release thread.
Great!!! Downloading now. I will report back about stability in battles
Is it save game compatible to 3.3?
The battle effects are really epic, especially the bullets hitting the ground and the explosive artillery shells. Unit textures are great as well.
Excuse me for my ignorance but are the maps from the mod or from vanilla Empire because they are very atmospheric as well.
Should be compatible with 3.3.1 but not with 3.3.
Thanks for your words, the battle maps are some made by the team and some vanilla.
Installer still says 3.3
And no, can't load 3.3.1 campaign.

Just wanted to thank the team for making and updating this mod. It's the reason I got Empire:TW and Napoleon:TW in the first place hah. I had a bug one day to play Sid Meier's Antietam and I happened to come across this mod. I'm really enjoying it, no complaints.
Just downloaded 3.4! Thanks for the hard work guys! I did a few searches for the unit below and couldn't find any answers. Is this available in your mod? I know the gatling gun is available and it would be nice to have some "what if" scenarios for this:
Confederate Revolving Cannon

Hmmm, smoke seemed to be nicer in 3.3 but no crash in 1st 2 battles (one mid-size, one large) with 'large unit size' and all ultra (i know it's not recommended but it's running fast enough).
Does the new smoke have less animation phases?
Gah, my Internet died mid install so I've not been able to try it yet, but the update sounds great. Thanks a bunch for the hard work guys, I would quite happily pay good money if this was a standalone game, great stuff.
great game gentlemen 3.4 downloaded perfectly I have played upto end of august 1861. No problems as of yet, top tier confederate units are recruitable. The only person that I Have not seen is Robert E Lee.
I got him as 1st general in my new 3.4 campaign.
union irish brigade can be recruited only once in custom battles instead of at least twice like other elite units..I mentioned that also in 3.3 version feedback but no one bothered to reply is that intended, or to fix that if it's not..apart from that, everything else looks fine for now..altough I didn't have any problems with the previous versions 3 installation files, this "all-in-one" single installer is much better and more practical..
