Islamophobia - noun,
Ironic device by which people from Islamic Countries, where conversion to Christianity or Judaism would put their life at risk, complain that people complaining about Islamic violence are violent.
Ex : Women can't participate in Gaza Marathon, but talking about it would be Islamophobic.
Might does not make right. It only proves who in that moment was stronger. Just because you can have your way with other people does not mean it can be justified in any sort of actual moral setting.
Saying that "all the kids do it," or that "we all did it before," does not justify reprehensible behavior.
What are morals? We're animals. The strongest survives and it prolongs our race. The bullied should learn from their experience and grow stronger than the bully. It just brings up the race as a whole.
Good God.
He's trolling. He just admitted it.
I would like to personally thank republicans and democrats for making fool of themselves in this thread. Keep entertaining me, please.
No I'm dead serious. Just looking at this through my science goggles that I bought from Sci-Fi monthly.
Aha! He isn't talking about me because I'm a Libertarian.I would like to personally thank republicans and democrats for making fool of themselves in this thread. Keep entertaining me, please.
Oh, sorry, that was menelik. But you're very clearly doing it too. And doing a very poor job of it. PM justicar or heinz for pointers.
Sorry if some of you don't find the thread relevant, but it's more Romney's response to the incident, playing it off as a harmless prank, that I was interested in more than the bullying itself. If you find the thread "useless", you certainly don't have to post in it, haha.
Bullying is NOT competition. This lacks logic.
Also many bullies have been bullied, sometimes even harder than their own bullying. It's a cicle. Bullying is more of sort of pathological behaviour rather than competition. Yes, pathologies and backwardness will always be part of humanity.
Personally I had bullying attempts, a decisive punch in the face worked wonders.
Not only was the only option avaliable, but solved the problem fast. I don't aprove of violence, but well, had no real choice.
Also am I the only one who notices that christians acknowledge in practice survival of fittest but deny it with faith in theory, while atheists acknowledge it in theory but don't subscribe to a good society model of it in practice?
(as in, survival of the fittest as a society motto would destroy it/make it horrible)

Human psychology is far different than those of other animals, except for their closest relatives, the apes. If we were the same as a cow why do we eat them and they don't eat us? We are the same in a biological sense, in that we are all made up of cells and have similar body structures and originate from the same ancestor. But to say that we can also say that we are the same as a tree, or a rock, as everything on Earth were originally made from some supernova. We can do virtually anything, given time. But technically a chicken can as well but that is simply not acceptible as they will have to undergo very extreme mutations during the evolution of a gazillion years to have brains nearly as advanced as ours. If we are the same as elephants. why is it that we can hunt them and use their tusks as ivory? Can't they do anything on their own? No they can't. They stomp us, we shoot them. In the end the brain is the ultimate weapon.
Does that answer your question?
You cannot pick and choose what to follow from your holy books. If you are truly a Christian, you must follow the bible by the letter. One read through Leviticus, where the disabled are barred from Church attendance, and homosexuals should be the least of your worry. It's the whole book or none of it, and to follow the whole book is to be immoral. So it goes.

He's just your typical unprincipled, slick political type, very similar to Obama though their careers have followed very different trajectories. It wouldn't surprise me if many politicians engaged in bullying or other antisocial behavior in their childhoods.
Its just classic how this yet again, with the pictures, shows that this man is the silver spoon that never really gets any respect outside of the other silver spoon groups of people.

I'm thinking everyone at that school may have had a silver spoon, so to speak.

I don't suppose it's occurred to anyone that "survival of the fittest =/= survival of the physically strongest"?
Humanity has long ago abandoned physical might as the primary survival attribute. We are hugely dependent on technology and cerebral aspects of life when it comes to our continuance. Not that the ability to inflict violence has lost all merit, it's just that it's mostly not as "muscular" anymore.
Look at Stephen Hawking. Anyone who can walk could beat the crap out of him but that's not the point, is it?
Hell, even in the animal kingdom not every creature (not even most of them I'd wager) relies on pure physical strength. Some rely on flight, speed or camouflage to survive. Others use chemical defenses or numerical superiority, etc.
Romney's just a jerk. Biging surprise. Moving on.
Hey guys... Obama smoked marijuana in college.
OMG!!!!! SOMEONE MUST TELL THE VOTERS!!!!
Come on people. This has zero relevance to their actual performance as president.

There's bullying and then there's bullying. Picking on a kid you don't like is one thing, physical assault and extreme humiliation are another. Would we so blithely wrack this up as "boys will be boys" if Romney staged a "mock lynching" of a black kid in high school or got in trouble for drawing a swastika on the Jewish kid's desk? No - people would recognize those as hate crimes. IMHO, pinning the gay kid to the ground, cutting off his hair, and letting him know in unspoken terms that things will get a lot worse if he doesn't stop acting queer is on the same level of abuse. Remember, Romney wasn't just a participant, it sounds like he was the ringleader. And since the latest psychological studies show that the biggest homophobes often are closeted gay/bi-sexuals themselves, that makes me question whether Romney has a whole other personality he's trying to hide.
Then again, my conservative friends say this is far less of a deal than Obama smoking dope as he was breaking felony laws.
