Let’s keep enjoying kings and wizards. But also remember to keep them where they belong.
Where they can do little harm.
Where they entertain us.
In fantasies...
Sam, Pippin and Merry returning to the Shire and Rosie pulls Sam in and he says: I'm back
EDIT: Wait CANON means only books completely written by Tolkien right?

It is such a quiet thing, to fall. But far more terrible is to admit it.
Proud supporter and fan of Fourth Age: Total War
Legolas building a ship and sailing with Gimli out of the Anduin and into the Sea to Valinor, I believe.
I assume the appendixes count?
Hmm, I think there's actually one event that's later. In that same year, Arwen is described leaving Minas Tirith and journeying to Lorien after Aragorn's death. She remains there until what sounds like the very end of winter, and then dies upon Cerin Amroth. It isn't specified exactly when during the year either this or Legolas and Gimli's departure takes place, except that they are both after Aragorn's death in March. But we know Gimli and Legolas left during FA 120, and it sounds to me like Arwen's death is either at the very end of FA 120 or the very beginning of FA 121. So I'd say Arwen's death is the latest recorded event.
by Canon books I mean the Trilogy books (meaning prologue, lotr and appendixes), hobbit, Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales...
None is correct I am afraid... I will help by saying that the event is recorded in the Lord of the Rings.

In that case, the completing of the copy of the Red Book of Westmarch in Gondor by the king's writer Findegil

okay did some reading and my queston is:
Name the greatest warrior of the Elves?
This could lead to discussions so if your arguments are right lore-wise the answer is good.
So please explain why you have chosen the one from your answer
Ecthelion of the Fountain. He killed a balrog, even though he died too (at least in earlier versions, not sure about the Sil) Others have done this too, including Glorfindel and Gandalf, but I think Ecthelion would beat them all
Fingolfin... he actually wounded Morgoth 7 times. and Ithink it is said that he had more power than Feanor

I would say honestly that Feanor was the strongest, I don't know the number but I remember it was mentioned that he fought off several Balrogs at the same time while he was already wounded and could probably have quite easily defeated a single Balrog in a 1 on 1 duel.
This was my opinion too, Fingolfin is the only one injuring a Valar!
Comparing to that killing balrogs is quite easy haha just kidding
So Aromez gets the turn and I'll rep crawfs and Mhaedros also for the arguments as there answers are sort of correct too!
I honestly expected someone to name Glorfindel/Gil-Galad or even Aragorn
EDIT: If you look it up Feanor was the greatest in craftmanship(Silmarils) and Fingolfin as a warrior

Well, Glorfindel did also slay a balrog, but it was just a regular balrog as opposed to Ecthelion who slew Gothmog, the greatest of the balrogs, and they both died in doing so.
As for Gil-galad, Sauron destroyed him even with Cirdan, Elrond, Elendil, and Isildur helping, and we know Gothmog was stronger than Sauron. Gil-galad was a great warrior in terms of the Second and Third Ages, but that's nowhere near what it meant to be great in the First Age.
Even Aragorn...I have a hard time thinking of any enemy he fought directly that could compare with Gothmog or Sauron. It was pretty clear he couldn't even have matched Durin's Bane.
Fun lore question though.
Who was the greatest sculptor of Arda?

Nerdanel, Fëanor's wife!
To Wolfeson,
I agree but I expected them to be named nonetheless...The Withcking fled for Glorfindel after the battle of Fornost, atleast that's my perception.
Gil-Galad fought bravely in the War of the Last Alliance and Aragorn...no real direct enemy he defeated but I still expected people to name him based on the movies
