According to the lore, dwarves came of age around age 32, and elves about age 100. Likewise the Dunedain had a slightly different life cycle than other humans. Obviously the game doesn't work that way. For lore reasons, do you adjust anything for this when playing?

The aging system is generally a very precarious matter in TW games, and in a Middle-Earth mod for RTW known as FATW (Fourth Age Total War), they simply decided to hide the age. I believe it might be best to simply ignore it; TATW's creators tried their best when not allowing characters to die of old age until very late in the campaign. In order to make the entire thing work for Elves alone, you'd have to restructure the engine as far as I know, and have age ranges change based on culture. Even then, you'd have a newborn Elf who grows from 0-100 years old in 64 turns (16 years), which wouldn't make sense.
