    Default RWT walls & buildings

    Hello there! Couple of questions:
1)I'm creating a mod set in 400BC and I wanted to use Rome's strat city models for the mod. But I noticed that these models are split on 2 parts, walls and buildings, while the medieval 2 models use only 1 part. I opened both the walls and the buildings parts of the Rome models in 3ds max, but the textures would be messed up. Is there an easy way to unify the walls & buildings and create a single model? Or somehow use them in a medieval 2 mod? Do you know of a tutorial that can help or a mod that has already unified walls & buildings?
2)If I want to delete part of a model, do I have to change the texture file aswell? Or if I want to resize a model, do I have to change its texture file?

    Thanks in advance,
    Samar.

PS: If you need any pictures or clarifications, dont hesitate to ask ^_^

Use IWTE to convert the models from .cas then make the 2 models into one, using milkshape's merge function wont mess up the textures as all the materials will be kept along with propper UV maps. Then convert back with IWTE again, You don't have to alter textures if you delete part of the model or rescale it. There are probably a few mods using new strat settlement models, not sure if any are using RTW ones.

There are no tutorials for anything like this, and the only tool is the IWTE, on the specials tab.

Hmm, I try to read a strat cas under the 'specials' tab but the loading of the cas file stops and in the console it says:
    Request strat cas file- Residence..
    Traceback <most recent call last>:
File "<string>", line 7589, in clickedreadstratcasbutton.
    blah blah blah
    Memmory Error

Can IWTE convert Rome Total War (battle map) buildings for MTW2?

I found the answer to my question! Thanks anyways.
One last thing, I've found a model of a ship, but unlike creative assembly models, it doesnt have a lot of parts, but rather it has only 1. Sails, hull, everything is unified in a single part. Is there a way to delete a sail for example, leaving the rest intact? I use 3ds max.

No, but if you use GOAT 1.1 to convert the RTW .cas file to ms3d, you can then merge it with a M2 model, which IWTE will convert. Then delete the M2 geometery and the skeleton that GOAT will put in, and your on home ground for any half capable model maker.

One tip on this subject, use a M2 model that has the correct number of texture references to match your end model, nothing else about the M2 model really matters.

By selecting the verts of what you want to delete and then deleting them, it might leave you with an open end in the deck though, which you'll have to fill in...

You make this sound so easy! I so far have used Goat 1.1 to convert some .CAS files into MS3D files, but trying to work IWTE is bloody difficult!

Where is the merge function for the ms3d files located in IWTE?

Sorry mate, I must have somehow completely mis-read this. You can only use RTW strat map buildings. At least as far as I know, and I haven't tried it myself.

Nope, I can't even find the RTW buildings in .cas format and I have it unpacked. If you can actually get the RTW models into milkshape or 3ds, then you can put them into M2. But it would be just like making any other custom settlement from scratch, very involved, longwinded and quite tedious.
