That is indeed true. Special agreements would need to be worked out between participating members, then.
Ah but it gets worse. Once the Brotherhood makes a shop for the Dwarves on Brotherhood land, the Factions plugin and the Shop plugin start fighting with each other. Aanker cannot destroy the shop I made for him because it's Brotherhood land and Factions won't let him break the sign, and the Shop plugin won't let a Brotherhood member destroy Aanker's shop because it's Aanker's shop, not the Brotherhood member's.
All in all international shops will be a cluster.
Yeah, international shops are a bit tricky. For one, how would you distribute the money fairly, if there is no record of your contribution. If there are separate shops on the other hand, what you'll get eventually is a mini-safezone market, albeit less safe.
Maybe the safezone shops could be reformatted to incorporate international companies? Change shops to be accessible by the entire faction, and provide shop "packages", where you can rent a certain area with 3 or 4 separate shops registered under a larger organization, and divided among members/member nations.
EDIT: Or, change shops to be accessible via signed up members, like portals. This might be a headache for moderation though.

Or just rent shops on your own anyway and sell stuff in coordination, reaching the same practical effect without requiring us to go through editing a plugin.
Then allow us to own the shops and sell them ourselves.
No 4-man company will make $10000 a month in sales profit, so that they can afford the four shops they need. But even disregarding these discussions, clearly it is not worthwhile to own a shop with the current $2500 rent.

Then could it not work by having one member of the corporation also be a member of the host faction? Money would then collectively go to the coffers of the company... Though this would of course depend a lot on actual good will.![]()

This. I don't think I made even half the money of the rent of a shop when I had one. Even if I did turn a profit, it would've been way too small to be worthwhile versus the time spent running back and forth and restocking it. It would make more sense if people bid on shops instead of having a high, set price. That would be a much simpler, more elegant solution to the cost issue than corporations.
Yeah but the problem would be that people could buy the shops and then become inactive making the safezone even more empty. I think a better idea would be to lower the rent of the shops.
To be honest I dislike this idea. Although Im not one of the more war-prone members. Why should factions be able to declare war and then suffer the entire server? This treaty would essentially neuter PvP as most factions wouldnt want to suffer a server-wide coalition trying to murder them. If you honestly believe that factions will not go to the aid of a fellow faction in the event an aggressor announces their intention to go to war in advance so as to not suffer the obligated force of the entire server, then your kidding yourself. Any faction that doesn't participate would in time and with enough pressure do so, and would suffer an unintended penalty of losing their standing in the server. Its not hard to open your public portal to give a few people a tour or so, but this treaty is unrealistic at best.
This is just Aanker's original "joke" idea of having some sort of united nations body to force everyone to play nice returning in a new guise, which in itself is just an enlarged repeat of the original spawning-enabled community server decree that the Dwarves would attack anyone who attacked anyone else.
Apparently not a joke after all, despite determined insistence otherwise from both Aanker and his cohorts.
Prussia will never agree with this, nor will we let outside nations sway our foreign policy.
There is no demand for shops. Not when the world is so rich and freely accessable.
I think people are missing something. Declaring war on another signatory faction does not break the treaty - so long as their public portal is not used in the attack. The treaty is meant as a bond of trust on the use of public portals, and will notnextend beyond that.
Austin has the right of it. Some people cannot read, apparently, but jump whatever conspiracy theory they can force down on the title of the thread without any supporting arguments.![]()

My stories:
People are welcome to buy in MotN's public city once it is opened, we will however not go into a trade pact. We trade with everyone but we will fight whoever we want.
Ps
My drugstore in MotN's public city is the cheapest in the world! Get some potions, blaze rods, netherwart and other ingredients for practically nothing!
Our faction like drugs, do you sell weet? or i mean Wheat?
Scribo ergo sum.
My stories:
I have been overruled, it seems. Good luck, Aanker.
