To be honest I was expecting a fair competition with other Rome modders, but I won by default instead. I won just because no other modeler entered, so this is not really something I would be proud of.

Congrats to other winners. You're all well-deserved.

It's quite a shame there were so many default victories. Perhaps next year will be more lively .

Congratulations to you and everyone who can claim victory over their dishonourable foes... in some cases dishonourable since they didn't show up .

I think you scared them off

I'm only half joking though. The Rome awards suffer from a lack of entries mainly. Whenever there was a vote, the results were reasonably close. Probably would have been a different matter if RS had a major release there. It certainly is different in the M2TW section. Modders could be forgiven for deciding there's no point in entering when you're up against one of the well established mods that are still being developed.

I think we'll organise a debriefing of sorts. See what should change for next year. And see if that requires starting preparations earlier.

As a member of the committee though I would like to express my appreciation for all those who entered the competition. IMHO it's not a lack of modesty, but rather courage to submit yourself or your work for a vote. Probably more so if you know the odds are against you. I don't mean to blow it up into heroic proportions, but it is worthy of respect.

I want say Gratz for all winners for Shogun 2 and other TW games!
If something negative can say: Results looks bit ridiculous in some TW games, there is same winner in each category.

Anyway... Next year I'll be in on FOTS.

btw, I noticed the award thingy hasn't popped up and that the username under "Rising Star" says "Anton" rather than "Anton III". Everything all good there?

Congrats to the winners. All the winners have great mods. I hope these awards continue to serve their purpose as recognition and motivation for the various modders at TWC.

To be honest these awards aren't so fun to read... However the will of the people is spoken.

I can't believe this , barely any variety . A few moderators and mods dominated everything ,If i remember correctly a small number of mods was nominated in the first place .

If I would take example about Darth Vader. I know he is good designer with awesome mods and I must admire him, but I watched his awards. It is like "same mod" has won each year in NTW catergory and I know that DarthMod have less or more than thousands fans. He can really easily win awards each years. I talked with Radious, I would think it is good idea, that same mod cannot be in award each year, so good chance that we can see other good mods too or 1st,2nd and 3rd rewards. So If we want see "the best mod", not populated mod. Even same Hollywood movie can't win Oscar's trophy each year.

I agree on this, however if you lose the awards you should be able to participate next year again.
And now we all sounds jealous, Face it Vader is a awesome modder. But Radious is also, to give a perfect example PunitorMaximus has a hosted modifications mod ALL BY HIM SELF! and yet very few people know him.

As said it's democracy nothing we can do and congrats to all winners ofc

Mods may be improved over the course of time through updates, by including additional content, etc, ect. Movies don't, so your example and proposal as a whole is quite ridiculous to be honest. The whole mod awards as it was set up could be considered as a popularity contest anyways, unless you would have a capable jury with modding knowledge to cast their votes. Anyways it's over and done, so its best to move on I guess.

That's the problem with the awards. It's normal practice (and IMHO a preferable option for both modders and players) to have incremental releases. It would be daft if we were to organise the awards in a way that punishes modders for releasing their work as soon as they have something worth playing and reward those who sit on their work until it's perfect.

    Congrats.

Mods released during 2012, that held higher potential, just keep improving then finally when the 2012 vote arrives, we can see a real tense competition.

The Rising Star should at least have 2 or 3 nominees in the next Awards.

(Its clickable by the way....An S2 overhaul mod.)

Seriously. Click it. Its the only overhaul mod that's overhauling enough to bring out NEW clans

Congratulations on your award, but your work deserves more recognition as the fact that you are a nice person.
