Didn't see this coming. nice one CA!

I know that it says this will be for MP but is this usable in SP?

Also was wondering if there was a possible patch in the works?

Prob cause that is a lot lot more work than a battle editor.

Is it because you are convinced modders would not be able to follow or is it because you cannot (legally?) disclose what is necessary for them to follow? In other words, would a tool be necessary not so much to enable modding as to obscure technology?

Btw, this is not a rhetorical question and I'm not implying anything. I just think it would be better to know what we're facing.
I'm pretty sure it's because of the pathfinding.

Yes, just like how Anton linked the Kyoto map to Sagami in the Sekigahara mod.

Yea, but if it`s too complex the BAI will get totally flummoxed. So it`s really only going to be good for MP unless it`s very simple.

This is my hope as well. Modders would be able to assign their battle maps to possibly generate when battles are fought in certain provinces of the campaign map. That would be awesome.

P.S. I also appreciate the general update you offered on mod support as well If you guys can focus your energies and come up with stuff to better support single player mods I will post nothing but CA love notes (for a while anyway ).

There is all sorts of data compiled into the campaign map format - so a "campaign map editor tool" alone wouldn't solve the problem (we actually use third-party modelling tools for creating the geometry and such a tool doesn't exist in our tool chain), our database editor plugs into that, then there's campaign code, pathfinding code, locomotion, etc.

Hehehehe. Maybe brainstorm an idea to create a new siege map that shows Osaka so we can have a decent Osaka no Eki.

(ok ripping off from the FoTS historical battle is totally fine, in fact encouraged, albeit edited to make not as if FOTS content is available to S2)

That would imply making kuruwa which is not cladded with stone, like a level 1 fort HOWEVER it would have several layers.

LIKE THE SIEGE MAP OF KAWAGOE!

QUICK LOOK INTO the possibility of such a thing possible!

    I know this.
But just one of this code would be very precious for this community. For instance something about pathfinding code could open new opportunities in this moment for my fellows and me. You told us that pathfinding code is generated by in-game data. Is there any readable part of pathfinding code? An old file in xml format or something like that? Absolutely nothing?
