How big was yours? Making me download 5gbs. Getting sick of this .
For me are 122 mb. I see the files and test the game and the changes that i see are:
- Fixed the red icons of some type units and the white icons of some ships.
- Some fixes in localization (at least in spanish localization) and support for the new DLC Dragon War Pack (the historical battles of FOTS for shogun 2)
- Loading time for land battles heavely reduced (at least for me).

Icons are fixed again, didnt noticed any other change sofar, again we downloaded all useless db tables. I really dont understand this patch system, why always redownload tons of totaly useless files. Shogun has about 30gb but could have easily 15. We have already 21 times all files same but game is using only those from latest patch always.
Edit: Just downlaoded another 48 mb big patch. This is getting crazy.........and it removed patch20.pack.
CA care to explain what the hell you doing?

Hi all,
The patch was an update that was scheduled for release on Monday and has jumped out a little early, so we'll probably deactivate this patch. We'll update you more on Monday.
Thanks,
Craig

All these mini patches are all well and good, but how about putting something useful in them?
For instance - allowing unit mods to work without sound bugs? I don't know about anyone else, but I cannot be bothered playing shogun 2 if I have to use the vanilla game's units.
Mods are not officially supported I know - but was it really necessary for CA to change something in the sound with FOTS that breaks mods, when it worked perfectly fine before FOTS? As mods are not officially supported, I hope this is something that was overlooked and is a simple fix, rather than being caused by a radical new sound system which breaks all mods forever .
Official recognition of this issue would be nice Craig, I believe some in the modding community have contacted you about this but it doesn't seem like they have been acknowledged.

The sound bug isn't just mods. I have the same problem on vanilla.

Right after the patch, a sales pitch popped up about new content (historical battles). So, I guess, that's what the patch downloaded.

Again, I'm feeling vindicated for having switched Steam to offline mode as my longterm setup (since telling Steam not to automatically update the game doesn't seem to be enough). I'll go grab these patches when I'm comfortable that doing so is a good idea. It's quite liberating, actually!
This sort of thing would have been considered very bad practice once upon a time - you don't pump code to users without telling them what it is, why they need it etc.
And that's partly why Steam is such a ridiculous format to distribute patches (and cage-in users). It's like the iTunes of gaming.......it looks like you get a good deal, but all the while you're being progressively more locked-in to a fixed system. Bonjour.exe? OFF!!! Steam.exe?? OFF!!
