black bears vs imperial guard

is the only advantage that "black bears" have over "imperial guard" that "black bears" are SLIGHTLY cheaper? when would you ever use black bears if imperial guards are available at about the same time as they are. black bears stats seem to be inferior to imperial guards in every way. right?

In the most recent Darth mod, my Satsuma play through has Black Bear Infantry showing a slightly higher accuracy but less reload and ammo I think (and range). They have less upkeep and cost. It's a cost vs benefits thing. The Black Bear units are still very very strong, and cost less to produce as well as less upkeep which can add up. I tend to field a mix of both, if I need larger numbers in a hurry I may go with Black Bear or if I need to keep some units back to defend they are a good choice as well due to less upkeep.

Imperial guards have a unit cap (do they still have that in Darthmod?) and are disbanded when you switch to republic. So if you're planning to go republic Satsuma would be a good choice since you have elite units which won't be disbanded.

Elitewolf i think wngpooniii was refering to Imerial infantry and not Imperial guards (whitch do have a unit cap), simply because Imperial infantry is comparable to blackbears and Guards are WAAY better in stats and all....
But i totally agree on your "going republic" comment.... i am just in the process of Satsuma, Legendary, intending to go republic so i dont recrute imperial inf at all...
