Most of the the time a game will run pretty standard, but every once in a while something weird happens, an emergent nation conquering Europe or, as in my case, Indians (not the ones from India mind you) becoming colonial powers.

Six nations trading Goa with Portugal and now they are on their way to make an impact on the world- I guess they want to show the subcontinent who the Real Indians™ are.

Here we go again.. Cherokee decided they didn't want to be left out of this Old World adventure and allied with Persia to get Afghanistan ..

I never had that problem however in 1718. Are you sure that you do not change the ESF file?

I'm playing with the 4 turns a year mod, so technically it's more like 1736 for the AI. But no, nothing altered and this is the first time I've seen this ever so it's equally strange that it has happened so frequently (the other nations are also trading but that's within Europe). The AI seems a lot more willing to accept deals etc in this campaign too, so maybe something quirky has happened to my files.
