    Default New Factions for 1.0

    First of all: Great Mod ( i finally got it installed)

    Is there a chance to include more playable factions like beastmen or cultists, even Chaos or Orcs?
    In the lore, correct me if i´m wrong i read that Ulthuan has an orc population as well.

    The beastmen would be interesting as well, maybe you could include the armoured CoW Beastmen

    Or the Dark Elves Enhanced Mod as a submod, so that you are able to attack Ulthuan as Druchii ( i mentioned that because i never played CoW)

    1) We will not add any other playable faction except maybe Tiranoc a day or another

    2) You misread, Orcs and Goblins never existed across Ulthuan, this is the land of High Elves only. 4000 years after the Sundering, a combined force of Goblins and Orcs lead by Grom will attack Yvresse but that's it.

    3) We will not include anything from COW.

    4) This cannot be. Nagarythe factions IS the future Dark Elves faction. Druchii are the name given to the Elves of Nagarythe who turned against the Phoenix King. After they losed the war they left Ulthuan for good and created their own Kingdom in the north (the actual realm of Naggaroth). 300 years later they will discover the Cold Ones reptiles in thoses frozen lands.

    4) I know that Naggarythe elves are the later Druchii. I just thought that a submod, like you did for CoW, would be interesting. We all know, that in the storyline or lore Malekith and his Elves lost the war and escaped. Now what i thought is the possibility to create a mod or something like that, that continues the storyline and give us the chance to attack Ulthuan as Druchii with Cold Ones, Black Guard etc.

    i hope you know what i mean :-)

    Mate,

    anybody will be free to do submods. anybody will be free to make Chaos a playable faction for campaign.
    Anybody will be free to make a "post-sundering" submod that takes place after the civil war with all HE united against a DE invasion.

    but for our "vanilla" mod we will not do such things.

    Once The Sundering is polished enough, we gonna work on our next mod which we planned months ago : The War of the Beard.

    It takes place in the Old World (same map location as COW one, but it will be even bigger) and it will takes place during the bloody war between the High Elves and the Dwarfs. Several factions will be playable : Orcs&Goblins, Beastmen, Dark Elf expedition and for sure, Dwarfs and High Elves.


    But you will have to wait another year.

    I advice you to play COW if you wanna play other factions than elves at moment. Even COW is a pain in the ass when it comes to balance and stability.

    COW is not about "i will try to download it".

    but about "i will try to play a campaign without CTDs' nor savagame corrupted"

    I'm very glad you guys focused on stability. I'm on turn 103 and I haven't had one crash. It'll be so nice to play a mod without crashing so often.

    Yes, that is the beauty of this mod, I spent days downloading CoW and have had headaches constantly with it, even with patches, new translations etc.
    No point adding great content if you can't sustain stability. I love what you're doing here and can only apologise that I couldn't support you more with some testing, but I'm in the final year of my degree and have so much writing to do before June. Which leads me back to stability, as I just want to play and not re-install or delete files and the Sundering delivers that.
    A playable Tiranoc sounds good, as does new units and the slow development of the Druchii.
    I believe that to have Dark Elf features now wouldn't work, partly because they would need Vaul's anvil? to harness any dark armour. Though that could be down the line, I know it would be a lot of work for you guys. I've already got guys in my Guild interested via the video, as many are Warhammer fans and having left the mess of Warhammer online behind are looking for a fix before 40k may get resurrected.

    Thanks mate. Stability is our priority. Version 1.0 could take some time to get released since we need to work more on units, balance (economy, units, unrest...) to deliver a suitable version.

    Keep in mind we are rarely more than 3 working at once. Any help is appreciated if you or any of your entourage do some modding.

    I'm a member of Kill Frenzy and strategy games tend to be played in between online MMOs, as it's mainly a PvP Guild. I know for a couple of guys this is their job and they are involved in the industry, but tend to stay clear in their free time. I'll post on the website anyway, but competition is now with Guild Wars 2 which is in Beta, so don't hold your breath.

    I hope to start learning to mod from Summer, but as I'm a bit techno thick, don't expect anything soon.

    Thats it. Its all about civil war between the high elves which splitted them and make khaines followers move out of ulthuan to naggaroth. Elves have long lives so same heros will show up centurys leater. Only one faction which could appear on ulthuan is skaven. They have under see tunnels an they leeds also to ulthuan but i dont think they were involved in civil war. Next faction could be ancient Slaans, but my knowledge dosnt reach that faar. I know they were creating star gates and thats how chaos got to the old world, i know they were creators of all living creatures in old world. But this is idea for submod based long before ulthuan civil war. Didnt hear before about orcs invasion on ulthuan but probobly Madman is right. Have to reach for some books.

    There was a goblin invasion later on Yvresse. Eltharion the grim saved Ulthuan that time, but it was really after the Sundering.

    I was going to mention that. My first eddition of WFB 3rd i supose was based on this invasion in starting set. They were night goblins i think. Definetely after Sundering. And another idea: blury infos about dark elves splitted on slaanesh folowers and khains followers but that was on naggaroth i think, at the begining of the kingdom.
