It saddens me that "silent majority" don't care that before they were able to get a game, a complete game, with nearly all factions included (I'm talking about only two or so not being available for good reasons) among many other features, and now you get a handful of playable factions and others come with DLC and now, just in, after you buy and beat a mobile game.

They're ok with what used to be a full package slowly having been turned into a cookie cut-out sheet, where once things would have been included from the get-go free of charge. It's the "silent majority's" fault this trend began in the first place.

How many of those don't you start just a new campaign after they have played to the point that they see they are winning or simpy got bored with the campaign?

Totally irrelevant. Not playing MP =/= quickly losing interest in the game. Just means you don't want to deal with online communities. In fact, the entire MP portion of the game is irrelevant for this conversation considering it is about DLC that only affects the main game. (If this was something like RotS or SJ pack then it would be different...)

This. I just don't like the online community for the total war series. Never been my piece of pie. However, I've sunk hundred of hours into the singleplayer

Are those numbers from Steam? Paying £35 for a game and playing <25 battles doesn't seem a very good return. More than £1 per battle!

Me? I've never beat a Shogun campaign. But I play the out of Shogun.

Its those Steam sales, people buy compulsively without giving it a 2nd though. I've met people who buy like 100+ games on those sales.

Personally while I love those sales, its baffling how many gamers buy games for the sake of owning them. Its kinda funny because you don't even own your Steam games

The steam stats aren't even 100% accurate anyway, as steam goes offline for maint. and sometimes the stats and achievements don't even update at all for a while.

You gotta wonder why there's so much emphasis on multiplayer when there's probably a smaller amount of of people actually playing it vs singleplayer.

Well i really do appreciate the input from many posters such as Humble Warrior & Captain Arrrgh, along with many of the other community members who are willing to take time out of there schedules and post here, supporting the quiet majority who haven't time to express there views and instead turn a blind eye or bite there lip, there actually expressing there opinion to help support CA in increasing there product quality and benchmark, and cease cutting out content to be sold later as DLC which imo, alot of it especially these add on factions should be part of the game. I haven't nothing against DLC, since it here to stay, but seeing all these game company doing it, obviously does make me feel like im being milked. Call it, being cruel to be kind, but these guys are merely trying to get a better deal, better quality product on the community behalf, and should be thanked even if it does fall upon deaf ears.

If over 2/3 of the game have never won an online battle, you should be able safely assume that roughly the same volume dont play mulitplayer.

I thought it was a horrendously daft idea for TW to branch into that direction. Co-Op/head to head campaigns sure thing. But that multiplayer garbage is a waste of time and resources that could have gone into the actual S2 game (the grand campaign) bigger and better. Anyone who does not believe this just has to go and look at the improvements over the S2 campaign RotS and Fots has. Those improvements could potentially have been part of the stock game and 70% of us would be happier for it. Instead we get DLC model rubbish. I have created more units in an afternoon then in the Sengoku Jidai DLC that have changed the way the game plays out on the campaign map, the way battles are fought and look far more then those 10 units do.

I also have not completed a campaign in S2, and have become shogun once yet i have over 1000 hours clocked up in the S2 campaign alone (albeit 950+ of those hours were using Darthmod).

It is also not really the customers fault, the hard core player as OCWife puts it, as many of these people dont know better as it is all they have known, or they dont know what mods are, or where to get them or how to work them. It is a joke.

I must admit, i do actually like the multiplayer direction of the game, especially the co-op, its always somthing ive wanted, but atm, the co-op seems bugged, late game, desych happen and turn the campaign bad, ending up in alot of wasted hours, hence the reason ive ceased with the co-op until i hear its running smoother, was hoping they would increase the co-op for Rome 2 to 8 players, so i can put down victoria 2 or HOI3 with my friends and play this as a huge campaign. But atm, co-op seems to be along way of being fixed and stable, since it doesn't seem to be able to handle all the data being sent to each player, usually ending up in a desynch, since your both be displaying different stats to each other or somthing, i can usually tell when a campaign is about to go bad, and usually save the game or have to play a turn back and avoid a certain squence of moves, but its a nice try on CA behalf, just hope they can actually fix it properly.

But i agree, what a DLC can do, a modder can easily fill the the gap in that area, with more factions or units, which does make me wonder why you have to pay more for DLC factions, which include a few stat changes, re-coloured units, or slightly different made models, but there you go....

As for the steam achievements and stats, that correct, there inaccurate, when playing singleplayer, i usually play offline, which means i don't get any achievements or contribute to the stats
