I have posted a thread, asked once, no one seems to care.
I cant play shogun anymore, i reinstalled it cleanly, and yet i got ctd in every battled during loading.
I verified the cashe and the game does not open.
Does anyone else have those problems, and what the heck is going on here?

I`ve seen Patches come as late as 18:30 in the past. But i`d rather wait an extra week than have it rushed out again.
A plea to CA: Please give us NON-STEAM OPTIONS such as with GOG.COM`s Alan Wake and Witcher 2, etc. Even allow a system such that Mount and Blade Uses. Many of us will pay extra for a Steam-free version of RTW2.
The use of STEAM-ONLY by CA is ethically wrong because:
    1. It does not need to be forced. It could be optional as other games have proven.
    2. It discriminates between internet users and non-users or those who simply do not want it.
    3. The `advantages` are only advantages in a very small and superficial manner. They do not counter the disadvantages.
    4. It suits the company way more than the user. We are simply told it`s better for us
Finally,I shall not give CA|SEGA my money for RTW2 while it forces Steam on me. They have given us no good reason why it must be so. Basically they don`t care.

A Steam Option would benefit ALL. Don`t fight us, JOIN us.
    Games don`t need forced Steam

That's just the exe I think. I verified cache twice today and both times Steam downloaded 25.6mb of something. Pretty sure nothing in my data folder has today as last modified.

    17:40 London time, going on.
Just checked a custom game. Nothing. Blood is still not on face or left arm and returned to the barely visible pink highlights. Graphics are the same, FPS is still eratic. Not noticing anything.
    Meh...

Mine has just patched...either 639 Mb or 63.9 Mb (sorry wasn't paying attention!). Shogun now takes twice as long to get to the menu screen, all my settings have gone and I am annoyed at having to wait for the patch to download, waiting for it to install, having Shogun lock up and need a full system restart...I only wanted to play a game and 20 minutes later I'm almost able to, but now I don't want to. Thanks for nothing CA, I'll go and play something else not Steam related and definitely not CA related. You are rapidly losing my custom with your shoddy business practices.

You do realize that it is more than likely not the patch. Probably just steam trolling you.

Maybe it's our fault for misunderstanding and they meant Monday, 2013.

First we had this mysterious patch downloaded onto our hard drive , then they took it back again and tell us we will get it on Monday and an update on what it is , then mysteriously Craig disappears. It wouldn’t have been hard for him to come on here and give us some kind of update but CA like to take the P##s out of us all.
It’s probably some DLC and if you buy the exclusive edition you get a free album of Jedward singing the FOTS soundtrack. Listen to it all the way through and you get a code for another faction.
    Fix the graphics CA

I have to say this is probably one of the worst companies regarding patches and fixing bugs.

We'll update with news on this today. The reality of development is you sometimes hit snags along the way. Worth remembering also that this is a very minor patch, so it's not going to radically change your game experience.

That is disappointing, because our game experience kind of needs to be radically changed, about now.

    @von stoker
Not going to happen. The best we can hope for is that they fix the obvious bugs, like MSAA, DOF, HDR and the crashes which seem to be related to the new graphics code (like the ominous 79xx lock up bug). Don't think we will see any changes regarding gloss or LOD.

I feel tricked..I didn't play shogun 2 after the latest patch due to the increased obligations with study and work..and now when I have some time I don't even want to play it after what they did to graphics with the latest patch..I don't have or want FOTS because I'm not interested in that period..I was interested in shogun 2 and now they made it look bad because of the FOTS..I really doubt they removed the gloss and some other graphical features just to please customers, I think they removed it because maybe it caused problems with the FOTS..anyway I want my shogun 2 back as it was when I bought it..every normal person understands that bugs are unavoidable thing in a developing of every game (especially such complex games like TW series that can never be completely bug free) but I'm frustrated because of the CA's attitude (we can't please everyone bla bla bla..I'm not asking anything that wasn't part of my original game which I bought except to fix the bugs and not removing some things like gloss or downgrading a graphics which was included from the beginning) and their unprofessional behavior to some matters now and before..for example after the latest patch Napoleon started to have really annoying campaign map buzzing sounds and some other issues but I don't think that will ever be fixed no matter how many of their customers are helping them and reporting it as a bug..that is "old" game for them and they don't want to spend time&money to fix what they ruined..

I don't want to be too hard or just whine, because patches were almost always a good thing and they improved the games, but sometimes they just messed things that were fine and I know it happens, but then please fix those things or give people a choice to have them or not..and what to say about the forced steam using or paying for some DLC's that should have been included in the game in the first place..Napoleon was a great game until the campaign map buzzings and CTD's (which I didn't have before) of the last patch and Shogun 2 was even better (I would say the best game in the series so far even though I'm not very interested in japanese history and I played every tw except first medieval)..I really enjoyed every aspect of it and I was not sorry not one penny I gave for it (which I couldn't say for Empire which was unplayable without the mods and before the patches) but now I don't think I feel the same way..also I think I'm done with their games after this even though they are almost only games I play and love..why buy a game when they can change it anytime and anyway they find suitable and easier for them? I'm not talking about fixing bugs, improving certain aspects of gameplay or having stability issues so some things/features should have to be removed from game or such..I played shogun 2 before the latest patch without stability issues and I liked the gloss (though I can understand people who didn't but they had the mods which disabled or minimized it)..now I have stability issues&slow downs, crappy graphics and partially working blood pack and can't do nothing about it..I know that some people will not share my opinion or will completely oppose me but I had to write this..sorry for possible grammar mistakes, English is not my first language..
