The idea behind he used game compatibility will have been forced on Microsoft by games publishers. They bleed money whenever games are sold pre-owned - they get ZERO of the money stores take selling used games, 100% profit for the store.

Indeed, it's hardly a surprising move. Though it will be interesting to see what reactions (if any) the larger game stores will have to this. I think GameStop makes something around a quarter of its profits from used games, they stand to lose millions.

And Microsoft could care less. Retail distribution is deader then dead. It's all about digital (Steam) and online distribution. If Microsoft stabs retailers in the back they will not feel the effects. More and more are buying online or digitally anyway.

Nonsense. The vast majority of people buy games at stores. Especially casual gamers.

Myself I always buy copies of games, the only game I downloaded was Orcs Must Die for obvious reasons...

Not any more. Paradox stopped releasing retail since so few people were buying them that it was no longer profitable. Other publishers are following suit.

Many of whom buy retail, there was massive outcry.

Just look - publishers are pushing digital download.

I think online is becoming a major factor just like in music but alot of people still like going into s store and holding a game in there hands that they have been waiting for months for.Just like CD's.
I understand why companies dont like trade in,hell i hate it.I always pay 5$ extra to get that brand new copy that i get to unwrap. The fact you get all this cool stuff with the special edition is proof to me that physical retail is important to sales and is here to stay for a while,i hope anyway.

Yet people still schlep out $15 for it. It's sad to see how convoluted people minds are to fanboyism.

Stand by my earlier opinion. Looks okay, not much more than that.

What the hell does playing zombies on Call of Duty have to do with fanboyism? The fan boys are the people who buy the same COD game year after year and all the developers change are a few skins and slap a new title on it. Can already see this new one is gonna be the same deal. At least they put some creative work into the zombies mode.
