Default Am I the only one having trouble with cannons?

Im not sure if this is a vanilla issue or not but my cannons wont obey my command! They insist on firing at other cannons if they are in range no matter how many times i click and double click them to attack something else and even if there arent cannons they seem to attack what they like - worse if i turn off the fire at wall and click to attack something in range they do nothing! Its getting to the point where I cant win a battle the way I want - anyone else had this problem> is there any way around it? besides not building cannons...

I use howtizers if it makes a difference

ctrl + click on the ground where you want your cannons to fire. This should solve your problem.

Are you targeting as a group? Selecting a whole group sets them to fire at will. If you want to target something specific, select them individualy. As a group they will target the ground where you want however. This little 'bug' has been present forever, how have you not noticed?
