Basically i've edited a few bow units from TATW. The originals in game have the bowstring animation but when i convert from .mesh and open in ms3d, add/edit and then reconvert and view in game the bows are messed up (most of the bow excluding the handle is assigned to the right hand). I know how to fix it so the bow/bowstring is normal ie. looks like a bow but doesn't have a functioning bowstring (it's still there just never changes) but i'd like to know is how to do it in ms3d (i use GOAT to convert models).
Is there something i've missed? While i don't mind inanimate bows it would be nice to be able to do this.

Read this topic ,there is a small tutorial i post 7.
What you need to know is that when you convert a mesh to ms3d it automaticaly gets the vanilla skeleton.
So before convert it again to mesh you have to follow the tutorial.
