I would like to nominate Prince of Essling.
A bit to late
Sorry - but I don't understand this because of the posts here!
On 20 April Bethencourt pronounced "NTW Hist. Researcher. There has not been any nomination for this award."
24 April rfmgunner nominated me; only for Primergy to say too late.
27 April Bethencourt edits earlier post of his to pronounce LEGIO_Desaix. as winner.
Edit: And I have noticed this post on the Lorz of a week delay http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?p=11388041#post11388041
Based on those dates an Explanation is required me thinksas something is not quite right here!

Desaix did the most out of all modders. Historical maps and battles, fog of war, 80 units per player (most modders didnt even know those things were possible at that time), map making tutorials etc. Who can even compare to him?

Just a couple of lines to clarify our position.
Primergy was kind enough to invite NTW3 to partecipate in the awards. I agreed accepting his proposed categories. The same day (or the next) cannot remember exaclty, our mod was suspended from TWC because of presumed copyrights infringement. I therefore found more fair to suspend our partecipation.
It took 2 weeks before someone took care of our explanations and some more days to settle down the matter and when the decision was reconsidered the nomination deadline had expired.
I think the board can make a double exception here and accept Prince of Essling nomination as well.
I believe a poll has some sense with more than one entry.
Becouse Desaix has no competition anyway Herr Essling. We could have a voting with many participants, but what for? They way it was done was clearly easier and faster than democracy could ever be.

Hi!
Please, look twice to the post and see that I have not edited it. I posted in the name of the committee and the member who edited it, did it in the name of the committee too. The nomination phase was public and lasted from 5 until 21 of March and was reopened for any member of TWC to point out any modder work so we would contact him or her to make his own nomination until the 15 of April, and finishing on the 21st of April to send corrected nominations.
The NTW3 nomination was done but suspended by a TWC administrative process as said above that ended this week, and it was said so to the committee this week. The suspension was not a voluntary thing made by these modders so it was quickly dediced by the committee that they could participate as they had acomplished in time the committee requisites to participate before the deadline had come.
This is a particular case and it needed its solution.
About "24 April rfmgunner nominated me". The nominations phase lasted until 15th of April as said above. We have to put deadlines as in any voting process. And this year the nominations had to be made by the modders themselves or the mod team leaders in time, a post in this thread is not a nomination. If we accept you alegation we would have to start all over again the process in a third nomination period. And what if any other modder decides to participate once this third deadline is over? A fourth one? this would have no end and no sense.

Very many thanks for the clear clarification. All I wanted was such an explanation as I said the dates etc on a close scrutiny just did not look right!
And I object to Filip VonZietek's comments as it smacks of someone who clearly has no understanding of what ethics is about.....

Hehehe
Internet is indeed serious business
In general, I do not hesitate to say what I believe everyone thinks, and it is that any member has the right to participate nominating his work and so the right to be voted. The voters are the ones that decide the results of the contest. But also this does not mean automatically that the work not receiving the price is worse than the winning one. The results only say that more people thinking they like more one work have voted than the people that think they like other work more. Every one has his reason to vote but even people voting for the same mod or modder could start a debate about the reasons of their same vote and for sure there would be different and even contradictory reasons.
It is a pitty that some mods or modders have not participated, several reasons maybe behind. Winning an award without rival does not taste the same as if there was a powerful rival, even loosing against a powerful rival it is not as good as winning but it is an honourable thing for the looser too.
Awards can be only given to one mod or modder but this is not taking merit away from the ones that have participated or not in the awards. Some good mods and modders are not listed.
Congratulations to all that day by day work to make the rest of the community have better moments. It means that they are generous so good persons.

I really do not get the point of your thinking but I can say that it is getting insulting in general terms. So I demand you to stop it right now. This is the kind of things over which this site has not been built.

end of the rine, no bannu bannu dong please
I'd vote for Prince of Essling, I think he is the best researcher around. He always pulls tricky information out of his magic books on just about everything.
This is called "[NTW] Historical Researcher", so it should be for the best researcher. Someone said that Desaix done "Historical maps and battles, fog of war, 80 units per player, map making tutorials etc", but were here to vote for a researcher, not a tutorial maker, or modder. And I think that no one can compare to Prince of Essling for research (one of my mates, Dee Jay, gave me endless research done by Prince, and I'm sure DJ would agree with me).
Please make Prince of Essling an option for this pole, other than having Desaix or none (kind of stupid to have a 1 choice poll, might as well give the award straight to Desaix). If the Lordz can enter the with a delay, then anyone else should be able to, we can't be giving the Lordz special treatment, now can we.
No offense to Desaix thoughjust trying to help the justice here

I´m voting for Prince of Essling.Absolutely best researcher around.
I could also suggest Didz or Kaunitz in the ETW section, but well, nomination phase is over. Modders and Modleaders had enough time to read and understand the rules and now is voting time.
Feel free to click the "none" Button, if you don't agree with the options.
I would like to thank my friends & colleagues for their very kind comments, but it is absolutely imperative that all of us abide by the rules. I have kicked up enough fuss elsewhere on this site about poor governance issues but it does not apply here! The competition closed some while ago and Legio_Desaix has won. I congratulate him on his success.

@Splenyi
there is no special treatment for Lordz...we applied the 1st day the competition started, then we got suspended attending judgement , we withraw out of good faith.
At the end of the day, it doesnt matter, we all know Prince of Essling and his research, Desaix s work is impressive on terrain research and OOB for the historical battles.
This is a vote to recognize great contributions for the community and lots of people out there deserve that recognition.
Funny enough both Essling and Desaix are not gonna loose their sleep because of this. And Iam sure they will keep their great work whatever the outcome.
I have done 75 new maps from scratch for our mod, yet there is no category for "mass map production"
and I never requested a map category or anything, we are happy to work, help and provide good entretaintment.
I like this awards for the fact that we can recognize the people that gave their time and effort for our entretaintment.
Essling havent make it on time, but he definetly deserved to be there.
