You're in as well, of course!Originally Posted by The Norseman

Yes, but don't do that yet - that will be taken care of later.Originally Posted by Shankbot12
And oh, in the list of "privileged" people (OP) the postfix "applied" stands for a person who has confirmed after the time limit of 72 hours. Just to make things clear.
Thanks to everyone for applying.

I'd like to join also.

I have made some adjustments to the OP. Status colours for the lists have been added for better identifying as well as aesthetical reasons (this being a course focusing on artmaking it's quite a relevant change ). I've also added a few dates there: registration will be closed on May the 2nd. If there aren't thirty students already you can apply after this as well, but the course won't be waiting for you. The first lesson will be posted before May the 5th.
Once the registration is over you can apply for the "TWC University Student" usergroup in order to get access to the Classroom Hall subforum. I'll still post a reminder here, with an explanation for those who don't know how to do that.
I'm planning to finish the course in six weeks - this could be done faster, though, as the first two lessons are quite simple on the aspect of homework. Finishing the course in a time shorter than six weeks will require hard, regular efforts from you, however. I think you could do it though.
The time limits for the lessons could be as follows:
Lesson 1: three to four days
Lesson 2: three to four days
Lesson 3: five to seven days
Lesson 4: five to seven days
Lesson 5: four to six days
Lesson 6/Final Exam: five to seven days
...making a total of 25-35 days. This being just an ideal number I guess the final length of the course may be around 28-38 days. Also, even if the homework would take just about an hour per lesson (depending on the lesson of course), there has to be a little extra time so random absences won't distract your completion of the course as well as to offer enough time for everyone to do the homework, even the busiest of you.
I have put your case under special consideration as was stated in the PM. You can take the course in case there won't be thirty students with less 2D skills.Originally Posted by Aikanár

This course is not about drawing anything - just image manipulation. For drawing there are specific programs which I'm not aware of and which I can't use at all.Originally Posted by Willowran

Registration has now been closed. You may still apply, if you want, until the course launches (ie. the first lesson is posted)!

In order to join the course the people listed above now have to do the following:
This is absolutely necessary - otherwise you won't be able to post in our brand new Classroom!
- Click "My Account" in the top left corner of the screen.
- On the left (under the "Networking" submenu) you see a link to "Group Memberships". Now click it.
- Scroll all the way down until you see the usergroup "TWC University Student". Tick the "Join Group" box and click the "Join Group" button in the bottom middle.
- I recall the forum asks for a reason to join the usergroup. Simply type "GIMP Basics Course II" or whatever.
- You'll be given access to the usergroup once Hader has confirmed your accession.
The first lesson will be posted this week - I'm planning to do that on Friday.
For any questions, please PM me.
EDIT: My bad for the "thumbsup2" in the PM - I had ticked the "detect smilies" box before sending the message. Sorry for ruining your day!
Regards,
~Goofy

Damn it! I missed registration. Had I just checked this page a few days earlier...
Well, I know it's stupid to inform people this late, but it bugs me to leave this open. So, I have taken Diamat in, as well as NobleNick who applied via PM.
As Lesson 3 is already in progress no applications will be taken from now on.
