Default Origin/Steam games on different disks?

I just got two SSD's in RAID 0 (boot drive). I have installed Origin on it and I plan to install Steam on it. I just can't play my games in my HDD anymore. Not a big issue as I can reinstall them but would it be possible to put most games on my HHD and a few on my SSD and play them both from the Origin/Steam launcher thing??

I want Mass Effect 3 on my SSD and I want Battlefield on my HDD and such.

    Is this possible?
    Miss me yet?

This would be better suited for the Basement; shall I move it there for you?

I'm not sure about Origin but I don't believe Steam will allow such functionality. All it's eggs stay in the one basket.

    Hmmm

    That could work.

My old one did not work AFAIK but a fresh install might.
But would it recognise two different Origins?

it might. it depends on what it all does in the registry i think. if it doesnt, it should work as if steam is running from a different computer. ive never tried this but the friend i mentioned probably has. ill let u know what he says

    For Steam, I use this:
    http://www.traynier.com/software/steammover

Basically it creates a virtual link between your SSD and Hard-Drive. There is no easy program for Origin, but it can be dun with cmd and typing manual commands.

Steam won't let you install it on another hard drive if it's already installed. However, you can just make a copy of your steam folder and move it to your other hard drive and effectively have 2 steam clients on it, or you can use the program above.

You can use the program listed above or just create junction points manually. I have steam installed to its default location, but the steamapps folder is a junction point to a folder on my d drive where I have a lot more space.

Basically, this comes down to creating symbolic links. Here's a nice guide on the subject. Basically, you create a hard link between directories. What this means is a directory can appear to be in one location but is in reality on another location, which can be across drives. All you need to do is enter one line in a command prompt.

So what you can do is install Steam on your SSD and symbolically link any games you want on your main HDD, or install steam on an HDD and symbolically link any games you want on the SSD.
