    Default SPQR 8.0 problem

Hi!! I'm new at this forum. I have recently downloaded Rome Total War SPQR 8.0 cause I wanted some new challenge.

I read the "Readme", the "House Rules", etc, etc. I searched a lot in the forums but couldn't find anyone who has the same problem as mine.

When I play a clean copy of RTW I have no problems. But when I install de mod, in the campaign map I can't see the "loyalty faces". They doesn't appear and for knowing how the public order is I have to enter into the different settlemnts one by one, which is rather annoying.

I uninstalled my RTW and reinstalled, put patches 1.3 and 1.5, and then correctly installed SPQR, but the problem persists.

    Anyone knows what can be?

    thanks

This is a feature of this mod, nothing wrong with your game!
It's quite unforgiving towards beginners, but with experience, it's really not a big issue.

The idea behind it is that loyalty is not something that can be easily measured in Real Life. You actually have to keep track of what your generals are doing, and how long they have been out of Italy if they have been winning a lot of battles.

Garnier's track sheet is very useful for this.

As for the population happiness, I think it's for the same reason (?).

    Enjoy!

Yeah, you cant just set a taxrate for a city and keep it there until you see a red face anymore. You can't just by a quick glance see how they are doing, you need to pay better attention, or else riots and rebellions might creep up on you.
This is all to make the game more challenging.

As a rule of thumb, I only employ my generals for a period of 15 years, after which I retire and replace them.
You will still get a few rotten eggs rebelling against you anyway. I just had two generals in my current campaign rebel after 12 years of service, but they had gained alot of disloyal traits from battles, so I kind of saw it coming and was prepared. Nevertheless, I keep my generals for 15 years of deployment.

1.: You have to reach the marian reforms and after that you can train them

2.: You can only reach the marian reforms if you are capture all the carthaginian citites and build imperial palaces in all of them.

you can only train them by getting the reforms which are only triggered by the capture of all starting Carthaginian settlements(The ones they start with in the beginning) and then build imperial palaces in all of them

Back to the public order thing: If you want to review your settlements quickly, you can always right click on the "Town/City" tab and pull up the settlement list. No public order faces there, either, but all of the number are in a nice, scannable column.

This is actually incorrect you only have to capture Tingis in the far west of the Carthaginian empire and build an Imperial Palace in that city then you will unlock the Marian reforms ......

It seems harder than it is.....

    Andre,
Most veterans of SPQR know about this, but afaik it is the creator's intent that it should be kept a secret since it's quite a spoiler.
Conquering Carthage as a whole is good enough of a pointer...
