A French-Canadian noble house founded in the early 1600s outside of Quebec, serving the Viceroyalty of New France as administrators or military officers until the conclusion of the French and Indian War, upon which the house was evicted from their land by the new provincial government of the British for a paltry sum hardly equal to half the value of the land as compensation. During the revolution, Sebastian Rondelle served as Commissioner to France, securing an alliance with France, and several trade agreements.
Quebecois Branch |
Refounded shortly after the American acquisition of Canada, the Quebecois branch of the house is technically the original branch, holding the rank of Vicomte prior to the movement of the house to Maryland following the French and Indian War.
