correct. These pistols are made from scratch, not converted from rifles - and as the clip notes - not safe to fire (particularly with modern ammunition). When Khyber guns are/were used in the past the ammunition was usually under-loaded, and even then with lower quality homemade powder that often included old cellulose film. over to you.

Not to mention that the Martini Henry originally used black powder, so the more potent nitro smokeless powder that was introduced at the end could break the gun if the cartridge was filled to capacity. I'll rummage around to see if I have something ready, otherwise I'll have to scavenge.

Ok, I see WW2 era clothes and the general shape of the aircraft is also WW2.
There is camouflage painting which means military but I see no gun muzzle openings which means a yet unarmed prototype.
If it wasn't for the wheels I'd say Spitfire but no.
The interesting part is in the nose, in the opening under the engine exhaust.
That lever-like structure betrays an attempt to make a variable pitch propeller.
So I type "variable pitch three blade propeller" in wikipedia and...
Well, it is not the Breda Ba.64.
I think I'll go with the second article, the Martin-Baker MB 3.

MB 3 is correct! I liked the angle of the picture, that makes it harder to identify. Too bad only one was made, and that it crashed

No problems, its very much a prototype and a first of type. It has a particular clunky name that becomes redundant to a later more apt generic descriptor (sorry I let it slide for so long, I thought this would be easy, as this photo often comes up in general searches).

    The Motor War Car!

Sorry, the hint of 'a clunky name that became redundant' made me think Land Battleship being replaced by tank.

Yep, Simm's Motor War Car, 1902. A one-of prototype generally accepted as the first armoured car.

    over to you.

Polish improvised armoured car "KORFANTY' from the Silesian Uprising. Didn't take me long to find this after you posted it, just didn't want to ping-pong, but that's probably the only way this thread will keep going - so I won't take so long to respond in future. This thread gets heaps of views, I encourage any lurkers that are thinking of participating to have a go. Google search: armoured car + skull and crossbones, then select images was all it took to find this.

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers, eh?

Yeah it was a pretty easy one to find, but I posted it because I thought the Silesian uprising is such a relatively unknown conflict outside of Poland.

+ rep and your turn, provided none of the lurkers emerge from the murky depths of obscurity to join us

Stagnation. ^ McDonnell LBD Gargoyle air to surface anti-ship missile, one of the early WW2 guided missiles. Here's something that might have broader appeal to get this thread kicking again:
