I was actually talking about all the stupid names, but yeah. That too.
I know Im generalizing, and there are some ok players there, but the majority of them seem like childish douchebags. (Again, no offense to the mature players. Props to you for being able to put up with it.)

I'v played about 200 odd hours of multiplayer and the only childish aspect I have really seen is people deliberly disconnecting or booting players for having more stars. Other than that conversation is usually soley focused on coordination, it's very limited. To be honest (no offence to you personally) I think some people come across as abit up themselfs in regard to multiplayer. It's the case with alot pc communities, you get elite little groups who think they are the end of all ends and nobody else counts or somehow lower life forms. It's a pretty juvenile attitude in itself.
Off Topic - On the subject of coordination, I understand you can place markers down as guides, I think having a fast talk drop down menu similar to what unreal tournament or Battlefield for specific coordination would have been a nice feature. Alot of people I end of playing are from places like "France", "Indonesia" and "China" so abit of a barrer can form at times. I assume with a drop down command menu, regardless of what language used, it would translate over.

I doubt it, you really don't have time to read what your opponent named his units. Sounds more like an excuse to avoid getting your ass waxed in mp.
I agree there is childish behavior in mp but that's people mostly having fun with a few bad apples in the mix. Most players are going to name their units whatever because they probably don't know what to name them in a historical context or just don't care. I have done the whole serious name bit and on the occasion having fun with a few units. I had one naginata attendant that I named shrine takers because I gave them one point in melee attack. It was always funny how players would send a vanilla attendant to take the shrine and I would up the them one by sending one with the melee upgrade.![]()
Go play some mp and you will see you barely have time to check the experience level and abilities a unit has, looking at names is a waste of time. I love how some of the single players act like they are high and mighty but in reality couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag against a human opponent with a brain.
called my black bear infantry - grizzly madness
red bear infantry - the bad luck brians
And white bear infantry - the polar teddies
I do not call any of my vet units bar one special unit anything. It is funny how you can have almost any cuss word in there
The only unit i have worth naming is my 150 range US marines whom i gave the honorary title Rodney's Rangers. They even have the dark green uniform and the white cuffs and straps just like the real captain rogers's and his rangers unit
Though it is not yet set in stone as they could very well lose thier title to a unit of 175 range Tosa Riflemen.

My British Marines are called the Black and Tans, so that way when I suicide them I feel very happy.
He probably watched some Youtube videos.
red bear infantry - nizam-ı cedit
I don't have FotS, but back in normal S2 I had a unit of Katana Samurai that I named "Cat on a Keyboard".
Pretty clever eh?....no?......well...ok..I thought it was funny...
4 vetted Katana Sam units named and coloured according to the 4 legendary beast of Japan
Ninjas are called Oni (demons)
Great Guards = Kuroi Ookami (Black wolves since they were coloured all black)
Monks = Shinigami
Katana Hero = Kensai (Ode to original Shogun)
And various other mythical creatures of Japan for other vets

Maybe it's just my playstyle, but I always have time to read unit names in a battle (I usually lose anyway, so I have a lot of time to look at things when everyone is Breaking) and I rarely see any actual "names". It's my nitpick, my pet peeve. If you name something, pick a name. Not some kind of funny phrase, word, insult, slur, etc. etc.
But hey, I can't stop you, and I sure as heck don't make the rules. People will name their units whatever makes them chuckle or laugh, even if it just utterly bugs the heck out of me. Not that bugging me would be their intent, of course.

Deleting/editing half the posts due to insults, off topic stuff and excessive personal references is a good indication that the thread should be closed.
