They now call it Afrikaans until 1983 it was just listed as Dutch. tbh you must be a strange Dutch guy not being able to understand Afrikaans. I can fluently speak it back perhaps some words I might make "dutch" in there eyes. Afrikaans = 90% old Dutch combined with some English words.

The republic of the seven united Netherlands has a orange white blue flag, however it's heavy debated since there was also a red one in use.

Orange is the color of the house of Van Oranje-Nassau which means Of Orange Nassau. It has been the favorite color of our monarchs for 200 years next year.

When Napoleon incorporated us in the French empire we got there flag but vertical. king Willem 1 of orange didn't want to change it that's why it's red not orange

It's pretty interesting knowing that the orange was for the princes in the flag. Willem 1 was a direct descendant of the great princes so pretty funny he chose not to use it.
