So i've been thinking about this for a while and have came to the conclusion that an awesome mod for skyrim would be a song of ice and fire mod with mounted combat, spears and even bigger battles. can you imagine the wall or the fist or the battle of blackwater in skyrim's graphics? absolutely completely amazing! Or getting to talk with ned stark and travel with him to king's landing and seeing the story progress and getting to pick sides in the civil war?

What are yall's ideas on such a topic

It's a great idea for a mod, but it'd require a lot of modding, time and interest

Song of Ice and fire would be a very good setting for a Elder Scrolls type game.

might be better to make a Neverwinter Nights mod for it, that game already has fully functional mounted combat.

The engine is capable of much more than that though with a good PC battles are held to only 10 or 15 people to not push bad PC's

Actually the engine sucks for large battles. While monster PC's might be able to run it, it's clear that the engine wasn't built for it and strains any system for more than it should for the amount of detail, AI routines and so on.
The Skyrim engine is still just Gamebryo adapted, which is an ancient piece of they should have retired after FNV. They might call it a new engine, it so obviously isn't.

I saw a video recently of Todd Howard addressing some things with Skyrim etc.. And he was talking about how at Bethesda (before the game was released) each member had one week to add anything he wanted to the game and after that they'd see what they came up with and keep some of those ideas for the final release. Well, they had successfully tested mounted combat, giant mudcrabs coming out of the water, enhanced underwater visuals, flowing water inside dungeons, flying mounts (dragons etc..). I'll see if I can find a link of it. He said "who knows if this stuff is going to be released free or as DLC etc..."

Seems like they where foolish to focus more on dragons instead of horses.

Mounted combat would have had a bigger impact on gameplay, dragons are nothing special. Pretty much just oversized cliff racers.
