Tobias' eyes scanned around the room quickly as he entered, taking note of the equipment, space and notably individuals that would either hinder or aid his progress over the coming years. Spotting Sophia carefully scrutinising one of the various monitors he began towards her. I'm not sure I know this one...still, she bears a higher rank than me, so best introduce myself. Standing to attention off of her left shoulder a few moments passed. Awkwardly.


"Ahem..." Sophia noticed now, turning to the blond who now towered over her in formal stance. "Greetings, I am Tobias Sandstrøm, reporting for Science duty." He casually flicked the datapad containing his appointment and service records at Sophia, it's light casting shadows across her face for a brief second. I'm certain she has already been informed of my coming.


"I'm not sure however of your name?"

Sophia, quickly flying over the Ensign's service record, responds in her unemotional voice:

"I am Lt. Cmdr. von Stock, your superior officer. You are the second unannounced addition to my team today. Very well."

Pointing toward a console, Sophia asked:

"I am assuming you know how to work these. Please run a sensors diagnostics to make sure the sensors are functioning properly."

"Very well Ma'am," Tobias responded coolly, preferring to avoid another confrontation. If all officers aboard this ship are so inclined to disinterest I fear the enemy ship we will pass by is as full of distractible souls. Following the extension of Sophia's arm he pulled out a chair and hunkered his lank frame somewhat uncomfortably down. Sensor checks were routine and basic, trained fingers running through the programs and data streams with reasonable efficiency. Long Range Sensor normal, check. High-Res arrays normal, check. Ah...the magneton. Vital. Normal? Check. Silence for the most part saturated the air, apart from the soft whispers of both Tobias and Sophia, too absorbed in monitor displays to notice the thoughts slipping from their lips.

Geo scans...slightly trickier. No nearby planets. I'm sure the normal calibration ranges are around here somewhere... Leaning back with a somewhat dissatisfied air Tobias inserted the final check and watched the program close. He'd somewhat hoped for an issue. Well, she is a new ship. There is much time yet Tobias, but for now your mind shall broaden with checksheets and admin. With a muffled sigh long fingers returned to the keypad, diligently completing the admin reports every task required in the modern Starfleet.
