Default Correct Units Sounds on Campaign Map with German Version

    Hi all!

I could not anything using the Search-Function, so i ask my question here:

I own the german version of Medieval 2:Kingdoms.
I have installed SS 6.4 and so far, everything works fine, expect one detail:

Units and Characters don't speak anything on the Campaign map and i think i have to change some file in the game files, but i don't know which and how?
I guess the files lead to the english sound files, which i don't have, of course.

    Does anyone know?

    search option helps a lot!!

    but for now ...
open the "descr_sounds_accents.txt" file with windows notepad located in your "Medieval II Total War\mods\SS6.3\data" folder and change it to following ...

    accent English
factions england, kievan_rus, russia, poland, hungary, denmark, norway, lithuania

    accent Scottish
    factions

    accent French
    factions france, scotland, jerusalem

    accent German
    factions hre, teutonic_order

    accent Mediterranean
factions milan, venice, sicily, papal_states, byzantium, spain, portugal, aragon, slave

    accent East_European
    factions

    accent Arabic
factions turks, moors, egypt, kwarezm, mongols, cumans, timurids

    accent Mongolian
    factions

    accent Jerusalem
    factions
save the file!! now go to the "Medieval II Total War\mods\SS6.3\data\sounds" folder and delete "events.dat" and the "events.idx" file. both files will automatically generated new by the game!
start a game and enjoy it with voices!!

    happy gaming!

    hoffe ich konnte helfen??!!

In the German version, do the English speak German with an English accent and so forth? What about the HRE? They speak in an old-timey way?

nope ... the english as well as the german speaks both "modern" high german. but the german voice is darker as the english one, coz a different guy acting his voice for this.
only the french, southern europeans and middle eastern factions have really accents!!

my personal opinion about this is .. its a shame, that the german version only have so short accent voices!! i especially miss the accents for the eastern europeans and the scottish!!

I realized that some units don't say anything on the Battle Map now and others do not have the correct sounds, i guess.

Can someone tell me in which .txt-file i can fix that, too?

I had the German version, but when I discovered the generals' speeches were much shorter, I bought the UK version. Much better and more diverse sound files.

Always get the original version for everything.

I have a Spanish version, and factions like Norway are completely silent, everywhere, not only battle speeches, while general speeches are in English and much shorter than in regular medieval, were I get normal ones.
