    Default Favorite classic supercar?

What is your favorite classic supercar? By classic I guess I will say 1980s and earlier.

    Mine is this:

Detomaso Pantera. Italian looks, Ford 351, ZF 5 speed, bulletproof drivetrain, simple design that works and doesn't die. Great track car, fast, and a affordable classic that can be kept on the road. In europe they built these until 1992 surprisingly also keeping the simple ford 351 even keeping it carb'd. . 20 years is a long production time for a car.

What is your favorite and why?
    I am far more reasonable.

    Reason 1: European cars suck
    Reason 2: Asian cars suck
Reason 3: American roadways are built for muscle and brute power, not for cornering and driving cars with electric shaver motors.

Primary reason: Power disc brakes, 4 core aluminum radiator, M-21 4-speed tranny, 4:10 positraction rear end and the 427 cid (7.0L) solid lifter big block underrated at 425 HP and 460 ft-lb of torque.

Also, production cars are for the weak. Deal option all the way!

Shelby GT500, i realise it's a pretty cliché choice but as far back as i can remember, it's been my dream car. I just love the style of it, the sound it makes, everything.

Other than that, the Lamborghini Miura... it's the ONLY Lambo that i've ever liked and it's not just it's beautiful design but if i'm not mistaken, it's pretty unique.
The engine is behind the seats and mounted sideways right?

BTW the Pantera is really an American car despite its name. Designed by an american and sold at Mercury dealerships, it was supposed to be Ford's corvette killer but they decided not to make it any more after the emissions regulations.

It is both american muscle plus europeon handling. The ultimate combination. Sounds manly as well:

Awesome cars so far I like all of these, lol.

M1 sounds sick too. Straight 6 and V8 really are the best sounding though are completely different:

1954 Mercedes Benz 300 SL Gullwing

Only to be driven by real men wearing quality shoes. Anything else would burn their rubber shoes away and wouldnt handle the first fuel-injection auto-mobile doing the 260 km/h easily.

    NVM how she bloody looks...

Just to help you out, Pontiac's are/were an American car, so when you ask, "why are there American cars and Pontiac's," in the same sentence, people are going to assume (rightfully so) that you don't know what you are talking about.

I do agree, though, that the OP should be expanded as to better define the criteria of what constitutes a supercar.

I like this one. Very similar in its body design to the C1 Corvette which was first produced in '53.

I know that the Pontiac is an American car but I just thought it was so ludicrous that I formulated it in a stupid way.

Well said and nice car! I also quite like the 250 GT Lusso:

Maybe a tad strange at first but in the right colour it kind of grows on you.

    Or how about the E-type?

Just wanted to second this. I guess there´s a difference between a usual sportscar and a real supercar. For me the "legend" about the 917 made it my favourite one. I also like those - just speaking about the design:
