[Kingdoms AAR] The Sands of Time
Welcome everyone to my new AAR, the story of one man's struggle in the Holy Land. This is my 2nd attempt at an AAR, the 1st succumbing to technical difficulties sometime last Summer. So I think it must be about to get started then. But before I do may just say all comments are extremely welcome, whether good, bad or indifferent, comments are what make writing worthwhile.

Prologue
Some men went to the Holy Land to fight for honour and virtue, yet after nearly 40 years of battle there I saw precious little of either. Others went because they believed it was God’s will to defend the sacred places from the infidel Turks and Fatimid’s, though really they hardly needed defending. Yet more went because his Holiness the Pope claimed by killing God’s enemies they could wash away their sins with heathen blood.
Me, I went to the Levant simply to forget the misery of the life I left behind. It is said that the sands of time could wash away all hurts and heal all pain. Well, I have waited many long in the endless sands of the desert and I still remember daily the horrors of my former life that drove me to this place those many years ago. In that time I have seen the wonders of the Holy Land, fought in more battles than I care to remember, witnessed the rise and fall of great men and spilt more heathen blood than most in this world. But, it grows late and my old bones are calling me to my bed, therefore those stories must wait till morning.
