Tactical scans sounds great

Reveal weaknesses in defenses, increasing all damage done to the target and slowing its movement speed. Provide the entire squad with a tactical readout. Only one scan can be active on a target.

Rank 1 1.9 recharge speed, 20 sec duration, 15% damage taken bonus, 15% move speed penalty
Rank 2 50% recharge
Rank 3 30% duration
Rank 4 choice between 7.5% weapon damage or 7.5% power damage
Rank 5 choice between 25% headshot damage or 15% move speed
Rank 6 choice between increase all damage by 10% or area scan (increase scan duration 100%, momentarily reveal enemies within 20 meters of the target with an initial scanning pulse)

I got the quarian engineer twice already, and he's very average. Nothing special, tactical scan is moderately useful, but nowhere near the salarian engineers powers and the arc grenades are nothing special either. I'm a bit annoyed that each of the 3 new pairs of characters only have 1 different power between them, but its free so I can't really complain.

My friend got the krysae sniper rifle, it looks ridiculously overpowered. It seems to be the geth rocket troopers rocket launcher, but without homing, and it slaughters all the standard enemies, although he says its not as good as the widow against atlas's and banshees and whatnot. I really want the new assault rifle, the fully auto mattock, sounds beastly.

Are the new gear equipment any good, as if they're taking up my rares in my premium spectres they better be, I better not get some more damage instead of a black widow.

The sniper is great, but the Reegar Carbine is just insane. I shredded a Ravager with one clip (it was Bronze but it gave similar performance when I tested it on Silver later).

Is the reegar carbine the shotgun? Sounds like all the new weapons are pretty insane. I'm quite happy with my phalanx X for now, by a country mile the best all round weapon IMHO.

They were very average for me, also on gold. To be honest though, the new quarian is nowhere near as good as the salarian infiltrator, energy drain is just leaps and bounds ahead of tactical scan and arc grenade. As far as I'm concerned the 2 best characters for gold are salarian infiltrator and asari adept, IMHO they're just easily better than the rest. Salarian engineer is useful for decoy, but other than that he isn't great. This is mostly based on me playing golds against cerberus on dagger, giant and white.

IMO he's too soft......

Sure he can biotic combo all day but by the time you pull somebody one of your teammates robs you of the pleasure of your kill.....

At least thats what happens with me.....

I like the Drell vanguard more......


I must say though....the vorcha.....that flamer is a death trap.....
worthless junk against anything that isn't reapers.....

Though I love the regen! Finally have a propa melee class!

Love hopping around chopping guys up and then raeeger carbine-ing the leftovers

No adept is better than asari adept IMHO. Can biotic explode anyone, quick recharge powers, and can stasis bubble which is a lifesaver on gold sometimes.

Drell vanguard is my favorite vanguard! He's so agile.

He's only good if you're careful, due to those horrific barriers. IMHO human vanguard is easily the best, just for the charge then nova combo. Haven't tried it on gold, as I'm not sure it'd work, but on silver it slaughters everything when the powers are upgraded properly.

When every successful Biotic Charge restores at least 50% shields and you have 200% cooldown your drell is fine.

Got the Vorcha Soldier, and Krysae Sniper. Krysae is really bulky to use on smaller maps, haven't tried out the Vorcha yet. Finding it tough to leave my Krogan Vanguard.
