Imageshack now has a 500 image limit

So I've just discovered that Imageshack have implemented a 500 image limit on their free account, and on the 1st May, all images over that will be deleted unless a premium subscription has been paid for.

I currently have almost 2000 images on their, most of them for my AARs, but don't want to pay $2 a month for ever just to keep the images there. If I have to transfer the images across to another site, is there an easy way of changing all the links to the pictures in my AARs, or will I have to go and edit each one by hand?

Also, which site would people recommend to use for hosting the images for free?

X2 on photobucket. I have a couple thousand spread across two accounts due to a bandwidth max out a few years ago during one of my AARs lol.

Just got the long and drawn-out process of editing all the hyperlinks in my AARs. This could take a while... Dam you Imageshack...

I just payed for a PRO account on imageshack. It's 3 dollars a month for a 3month subscription so it's hardly an extortion. It also means I don't have to move 300 pictures and update the hotlinks everywhere

But it all mounts up over time. That's over $30 a year. 3 years on and you've spent almost $100 for something you could have free elsewhere for a bit of effort.

Plus it feels a bit like blackmail to me. "Now we've got your images (which we told you we'd store for free), we're going to delete them for good unless you keep paying us money".

Plus imageshack customer support is so rubbish I would never give them my money. I've emailed them several times before and never had a reply...


I'm slowly switching all my images across to photobucket now. The upload is easy enough, its changing all the links in all my AARs that will take forever...

I use imgur... it's free, no limit, and the pictures will only be deleted if they are not loaded a single time in 6 months

Photobucket has a monthly limit of bandwidth so it makes an image expire temporarily if many viewers view it, which is what happens usually.
Imageshack has an hourly bandwidth limit iirc.

I use tinypic, no bandwidth limits and no account needed to upload. Only drawback is that they don't have any account etc to maintain albums.

I'm more pissed off that I have to go through all my AARs and other places I've got images posted and change all the links to images, because on the 1st of May, over 800 of my images are going to get deleted. So far I've changed around 500 of them. Just another 300 to go. I'm just glad I've got the images saved on my PC, otherwise I'd be losing one hell of a lot of work.
