“a poor model can be saved by a great texture, but a bad texture will ruin even the most detailed model.” - James O'Donnell, Forgotten Hope mod artist

General Cornwallis, while browsing through your AMAZING units, an idea popped into my head. The Russo-Japanese war! Basically, the Japanese and the Russians fought over Korea, Japan, and Manchuria in a series of battles between 1904 and 1905. You can read more about this by going here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russo-Japanese_War
Now back to my point, even though this war was about 25 years after the game itself, much technolgy is still the same. If you have already created some Russian units, that leads me to believe that there is a Russian nation as well. If there already is a Russian Nation, then all that is left is to add some more time apporopriate Russian Units and Russian Ships. I will gladly provide you with links, paintings, and pictures. Just tell me what you think. Heck! I even had an ancenctor who fought in that war. (Russian side)
So just reply here or message me if you are interested and we could get started.
Thank you for your time,
tzarmarko
@tzar - That is very interesting indeed, and I have previously thought of it. I just don't have the time to construct a full mod right now, unfortunately.
Alright here is the re-done French Infanterie de la Ligne in the 1860 Second Empire uniform

UnderstandableKeep up the good workj though! Also, when are these going to be released? And when they are going to be released, will they be recruitable in the campaign or only custom battles?
tzarmarko
They'll be recruitable at the tading ports- Franco-Russian, British/Imperial-Prusso-Spanish-Dutch, and American for now in campaign and in custom battles.
These units will be the first batch, with further releases to follow focusing on more cavalry and artillery, and other infantry units. As soon as I finish up the units cards it will be ready.
Here are the new Chasseurs a Pied:

Firstly, great mod but I have two questions;
I've installed it but.....
1. The British Infantry seem to be wearing the normal Marine Kepi like hat, not the one in your pics.
2. Why are the Royal Marine Artillery only two guns not four, even on ultra?
Other than that, as I said great mod!
I wish very much that some measures could be adopted to get recruits for the 29th Regiment, it is the best Regiment in this Army, has an admirable internal system and excellent Non-Commissioned Officers. Duke of Wellington, 12 September 1809.
The Nazis entered this war under the rather childish delusion that they were going to bomb everyone else, and nobody was going to bomb them. At Rotterdam, London, Warsaw, and half a hundred other places, they put their rather naive theory into operation. They sowed the wind, and now they are going to reap the whirlwind. Never in the field of modding was so much owed by so many to so few.Bang on! Huzzah!!
Great mod!but, why the royal marine artillery have katanas instead of sabers?
Spanish
Does this work with Darthmod? Sorry I'm new to Shogun 2 mods.
I'm back
So I was scouring the Internet for different regiments and heres what I got:
Preobrazhensky Regiment (Russia) (infantry)

Caucasus Line Cossack Infantry (Russia) (demountable cavalry)

Also I have a suggestion, make the Russians be recruitable in French trading ports instead of british. Since the Russians greatly disliked the British but greatly admired the French.
+1 good idea!!!
i have a trouble! mod not working - no new units! strange - place mod in my data folder and add a user.script ? but nothing happened!
@stufu: Are you sure you entered the correct entry into your user script that I posted on the first page?
@Tzarmarko: I'll look into seeing what I can create, I was thinking of adding a few more U.S. units first for the next release given they didn't recieve the most love this release.
As for the ports, I thought I had set the Russians to French trade ports? Are they coming up recruitable at the British port? I had wanted it to represent the increasingly friendly relationship between France and Russia before the 1894 alliance
@sentrywatch: It should work I think, but the stats are different as mine are not based off Darth's but vanilla.
@miguel: I thought they looked more appropriate than the rather cavalry esque sabres, more alike naval dirks, but I am debating switching them.
@Albion: Last minute change, the tropical cap model wasn't working correctly with the heads and they were coming through, so in the meantime I have them in their English service caps with the 24th's plate.
For the artillery, I didn't want them to be a full battery of four given they are naval artillery, so they are highly accurate and powerful, with heightened melee as they are marines but only 2 guns per battery. You'll find they pack quite a punch!
Ahh ok, thanks for clearing that up....I thought with the hats I had messed something up!
I love the Marine artillery even though they have less guns because of the changes you mentioned.
Keep up the good work sir!
