Hittite Empire was pretty dead by our timeframe, also their complete empire is out of our current map. (Not sure if the map will be expanded yet.) Nonetheless, thank you for the suggestion.
Yup, the Hittite empire was gone for good by the IX century BC, but the "Neo-Hittites" are another fact.
Simply put, they were aramean and anatolian who took the Hittite cities, intermingling with the local population, and taking hittite technologies, language and (probably, I don't remember really good) Hittites scripture.
The Hittite Empire crumbled by the XIII-XII century BC, but these "Neo"-Hittite rised to power in the XI-X century, binding themselves in a confederation of city states (roughly beetween Phrygia and Phoenicia) that survived past the VIII century.

looking forward to this. What skills are required to mod? What software and such?
Is the city of Urartu featured, in the mod?
I am looking forward to this mod. Will it use RTW, BI or Alexander? Will it be as historical as ROP, RTRPE or even EB?
Any updates on the progress you guys have made on this mod?
Yes, progress updates? One thing I've noticed about mods that kill them quickly is texture/modeling of units and coding. I hope you guys have a handle on those things.
-My ultimate Total War gaming dream is that eventually TW mods will cover every important era from 1800 B.C. to 1870 A.D.
