Have you guys taken part in any line battle events yet? If so, do share the experience!![]()
It is far better than I expected, they payed much attention to the unit models and the landscapes are ten times better than in native Warband. Besides those, the variety of units (including musicians and officer)s makes it a complete new experience. A must-buy if you ask me.
I bought it for 10USD (Paid 5 for M&B warband at Steam, DLC more expensive than the game itself xD) and I am downloading it, looks really fun, but I really hope people play with organization, not like Warband in which battles were a huge mess with every man for himself.

normal gameplay most of the time there is no organization but if you join a regiment you will have excess of it! (which is awesome)I bought it for 10USD (Paid 5 for M&B warband at Steam, DLC more expensive than the game itself xD) and I am downloading it, looks really fun, but I really hope people play with organization, not like Warband in which battles were a huge mess with every man for himself.

Review Posted in the Game Review forum. Perhaps I should have posted it here.
Nice work Angelmar. One thing though, regarding the melee system. It is not just about luck. I play the game a lot, and I used to play Mount and Musket a lot as well. When playing I always hit the top 5 players during the round. Having 50-10 scores is hardly lucky... maybe 1 out of 15 kills might be luck due to factors such as lagg, animations script or what not. But true, for new players the melee system might seem rather challenging. My best tip is to practice and practice and practice some more! ^^
I am having a blast with the DLC. 2 Days ago I was playing in a map which seem like a Russian forest and plain covered with snow, I was playing as Russia and the other team was Austria. It was a battle game in which you only had 1 live. We started and I went following the flag guys with like 10 other guys, we walked away from the main group and spotted a large group of 20-30 Austrians who saw us and formed a poor line and started to fire at us, we responded and killed like 10-15 of them, but we took heavy casualties, the only standing men left was me and 2 other guys who started to retreat in the a nearby forest but I returned running to grab the Russian flag (Felt so epic) who had fallen on the ground and managed to escape, we got to a small group who had formed a little fort among some rocks. It was a great battle

I would have gladly paid £40 for this DLC.
You don't actually need to join a regiment to fight in an organized manner. There are a number of public linebattles for both EU and NA, every week. Its basically a linebattle like any other, except there is a public regiment for public players (non-regimental players) to join, and fight against other regiments. The public regiment is led by a guy who will teach the pubbers (As they are known) how to properly fight in an organized linebattle, and also lead them into battle. I should know, I lead the NA Friday Linebattle public regiment.
We actually do quite well as well. This is because the way musket works, the better trained regiments aren't that much more accurate than the pubbers. With a few veteran leaders, the pubbers are also not out-thought tactically. The only time trained regiments shine quite clearly is during melee, but even then, pubbers who play the game regularly or has had some practice with the awlpike in native, will still do quite well.
Having said that, if you want to invest time into this game, and get the most out of it, then you should join a regiment.![]()
"My brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the Arsenal is no more, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of gooner-ship, but it is not this day. An hour of Spuds and shattered cannons when theHighburyEmirates comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, Men of North London!"

I have yet to hit anything, and melee combat is so different that I totally suck![]()

I had an absolute great time with this, I just get very creeped out seeing women with cigars and pipes :L. Kind of wish they would have added the Ottoman Empire as a non-white guy faction.
