    Default [RS 2.6] Strat map alternative texture

    As requested i now present caligula caesars strat map textures for RS 2.5 .
    A beautiful map texture with bright colours from lush green to rustic sandy reds easily showing up every hill and climate on the rs2 map
    ....HOW TO INSTALL.....
    1.EXTRACT THE FILE USING 7 ZIP TO SOMEWHERE ON YOUR COMPUTER {documents or desktop or somewhere}.....
    2. GO INTO THE EXTRACTED FOLDER AND COPY THE DATA FOLDER OVER TO YOUR MAIN RTW INSTALATION....{the main hold of all your rtw files like data,bi,alex,miles,tga,gamespy and all that stuff}
    3.YOU WILL GET A {CLICK YES TO ALL MESSAGE }....CLICK YES TO ALL...
    4..GO TO THE RS 2.5 LAUNCHER AND DELETE MAPS ....
    5.START GAME ...SIT BACK AND ENJOY THE NICE NEW EASY TO SEE STRAT MAP...
    ALSO SAVE GAME COMPATIBLE ......

    Uh, does this require a new campaign? I'm not quite sure what delete maps does but I would like to know if it will invalidate my current campaign.

    Installed it anyway, works with my previous campaign. MAN does the map look so much better now! Like.. just unbelievably better! Thank you! Rep! Reeeeeeeeep!

    Thanks, this all looks rather neat !!

    Just a thought: instead of doing the replacement of files manually, I use a freeware called JSGME. It handles everything automatically. With it, you can install and de-install a mod with a simple click. Highly recommended!

    Pretty simple to use as well.

    - Just create a folder called MODS in the Roma Surrectum II folder
    - Then create a subfolder for each mod
    - Then have the proper folder structure under that one (typically data\ ... and so forth).

    As a result the user interface displays the sub mods per folder name you created, and you can toggle them on and off.

    I have this for all my games. I have a simple setup with a single separate JSGME.exe under each game folder.

    I'm sorry I'm completely unfamiliar with map textures and what all they pertain to. I have a question about them and I may not write it very clearly.

    Does this modification add trees to the campaign map?

    In the image below, you can see spawned armies from the Second Rebellion script get stuck in a block of trees. They cannot be attacked and cannot move.

    i would say no , all this mod does is change the surface colour of the strat map , but i will look into it , this mod SHOULD in no way have any effect on anything going on in the game , i have not messed with names , scripts or settlements in any way , did this rebel army just appear in that place or did they move into it? ............ps the RTW engine is a funny old dog sometimes so you can never realy tell , change = effect ....... but i have used this strat tex alot and on othermods without any problems whatsoever over the last year or so.

    It spawns there as part of the second rebellion script.

    If it only changes the surface color it could just be a bug with 2.5s Civil War script. Thanks, that helps me a lot!

    Does this mod disable the borders? Once I applied it I can't see the distinctions of where a province begins/ends. Is that part of this mod and is there a way to revert it?

    i dont think that what your talking about is in this mod , i will check when i get time , this mod should only change the terrain not the borders

    As I would think. I believe there might be a borders option somewhere that I am simply missing. I will get back to you if I find my issue to be that just of neglect.

    How do you enable borders between provinces. i am having this problem too.
