Hi!
My Battlefield Smoke Mod improves the most and important special effects in Shogun 2: TW, Rise Of The Samurai and Fall Of The Samurai. Nearly all explosion-, fire- and smoke-effects are changed or improved for a more immersive and athmospheric gameplay. Enjoy!

Changelog
Following special effects are changed or improved in the game:
- Musket smoke is more white and last longer
- Adds more and long lasting smoke for land- and navalcannon
- Blood effects for musket and cannon hits
- Cannonball trails
- White rocket trails
- Better arrow flame and smoke trails
- Enhanced firebomb explosion with more fire on the ground
- New, white smoke clouds for rocket explosions
- New explosion effects for grenades
- New explosion effects for parrot and armstrong shells
- complete overworked special effects for naval battles
Version 1.1 improves following effects:
- better musket smoke and little less smoke for rifles
- better long lasting smoke for shell explosions
- bugfix for cannonsmoke
Version 1.2 improves:
- Rocket-trails are now longer and the fire smaller to be more realistic.
(Thanks to Satyrus for this tip! It may take a little bit more performance)
- Rocket-explosions are now smaller to look more realistic
- Firearrows are more visible now
- Explosions of parrot and armstrong cannons are different now. Parrot explosions are smaller than armstrongs.
- The ground firespread of Shogun 2 catapults is greater now and the smoke has been improved.

I added a version for the current Darthmod 4.1++. To play with Darthmod just download BSM for Darthmod and extract the files from the 7zip archive to the data folder of shogun 2. That's it.
Thanks goes to DARTH VADER for the permission to adapt his mod-files to work with my BSM.
Please read the readme.txt for installation instructions! My Mod works best with the non_projectiles mod by zowrath!
At this Point, i have to say aBIG, BIG THANK YOU VERY MUCHtoSatyrus, who kindly gave me the bloodpack dlc to enhance the blood effects in future releases and Valky, who donated me the Fall of the Samurai addon!!! We all have to thank you for such a friendlyness and helpfulness!
The mod won't work correctly, if you have other mods installed, wich modifies one of the following files:
landbattle.xml
projectile_tables
particle_effects_tables
projectile_impacts_tables
projectiles_explosions_tables
Textures in the Effects\Textures folder.
If you want to use my mod as part of your mods, please ask for permission, thanks!
Sorry for the Problems with the Addon Fall of the Samurai. I had to alter all the effects for Shogun 2 recently, because of the latest patch. But this official patch brought very nice advantages for particle effects visuals. Unfortunatly i have not the money to buy FotS now. I buy all my games in some steam deals, so 30,- € is much money for me. I have to wait until the price is acceptable for me. Maybe with the next big Steam Deal.

Yes, it's a long time ago, i was here. I hope the addon will be in some steam deal very soon, so i can buy this and adapt my mod to work with it.
I can create new effects or enhance it faster now. The time of understanding and learning the script-code and implementation of new effects for me is over. So it will take not as much time as i began to work on my mod with Empire.
When we get that smoke effect to FOTS. I believe whole battlefield will be under smoke then.
As soon as i get FotS. I hope this will happen very soon. But i have to watch my money atm.

I don't think so. AFAIK this mod alters textures of the blood dlc. And my mod doesn't work with the dlc atm. But there is light at the end of the tunnel and i have the possibility to get the dlc soon.

I've just watched a quick battle with the current release of BSM in FotS. There are many effects missing for the new units such as cannons, gatling guns, explosions and ground hit effects. All other enhanced effects for Shogun 2 and RotS are still working. No problem. The production of a compatible BSM for FotS will be much fun for me. I'm looking forward to enhance all the missing effects.
Yeah! TW without BSM is just like to play SM, right?

I must remind you first, that parrot cannons don't have particle, fire and smoke effect, because CA hasn't fix it . If you can fix it. I must praise you to heaven.

Thanks for the hint! I've just tried to fix this problem with that parrot guns - and i was successful! There was no problem to fix this. So don't worry.
Cause I was a bit puzzled with the projectile changes did you made any major changes? Wanna keep DMS-changes to the projectiles and add/edit yours later on and as far as I can tell you added/changed only the shrapnel of the Fire-stone thingie? (If I'm allowed to change it - that is ^^)
[or I could made myself a tiny mod where only the shrapnel is changed, so there shouldn't be any impact on other changes at all]
