Reforms

Hey guys!
Brand new to this mod and wanted I'm about to start I roman campaign(I know it's a Greek mod, but I love romans too much). I wanted to learn as much as I could before I start rather than while I'm playing >.<
So my questions are...

What are the different (roman) reforms that trigger, and what triggers them? I've heard of Marian and Marius reforms(or maybe they're the same thing...), but don't know what they do.

Do the reforms affect other factions too?

Is there any way to "rush" the reforms? (If that's even a viable option)

Marian Reforms (named after Gaius Marius) take place when a Roman city in Italy, except Rome, reaches the huge city level. About all factions get better troops, but Romans profit most.
If you want to rush the reforms, you'd have to make sure the city has a good population growth, or perhaps you can disband armies to enlarge the population.

the reforms just hit in my game for the romans, who are now prancing around with legionnaires but i haven't noticed anything different with the dudes i can train.

do the reforms happen for all other factions at the exact same time as the marian reforms? how do the reforms affect germania?

Every faction's general unit should become stronger. I'm not sure barbaric factions profit from the reforms too much. I do know for example TSE gets access to legionaires.
