Resignation

After a thorough physical, a thousand and some questions about my past, and talking to a civilian contractor, signing around a thousand different places, I recited the above oath formally making me the property of Uncle Sam and the State of Pennsylvania. On the 26th of this month I will be sent to Fort Indian Town Gap for pre-Basic Training and on the 30th of this month I will be flown to Fort Benning, Georgia to begin my OSUT Infantry training. In about 14 weeks later I will bear the blue cord, blue badge, and crossed rifles of the infantryman.

What does that mean for TWC? It means multiple things. First I am pretty much resigning from the Mudpit because I am not supposed to criticise the POTUS or the Governor of Pennsylvania. I am also resigning my position of Quaestor. I know I have 16 days left, but I don't know how often I'll visit the site, and don't want to have to worry about moderating. I also do not know if I will return after 14 weeks off. Because of this I think the honest thing is to resign.

A great shame, but our loss is Uncle Sam's gain! Farnan, and you will always be Farnan, you have been an excellent moderator and a great member of the team. even more than that, you are one of the fairest people I know!

Indeed. Farnan, you were a great moderator for a forum I did not (and still do not ) inhabit, and it must've been quite a thrill to put down all those fires that started in heated discussions. You will be missed.

Yea, it was kind of pitiful when I took the oath, there were 3 Guardsmen, 2 Marines, and one Airman taking it at the time, and I think the Major administrating it must have been lenient with us when we were at attention (we only had about 3 minutes to pratice it), and we kind of mumbled the Oath. But it was official...

Yep, gotta get a degree first, so I'll be enlisted for a bit (which will make me a better officer, as I will not be a green 2nd Lt...)(though it does mean I'll be going through Basic or Basic-like experiences 3 times)
