    There have been thoughts about the same thing, wih some people thinking about naginata as well. There is a problem as far as I have read: You can't model anything for S2 (if you look at all the additional unit mods they are all the same models as in the base game but with different weapons and stats) and there's no model for a rifle with bayonet. On top of that, yari are longer then rifles.

    I dunno if anyone actually tried it though. I've been wanting to mess around with it myself, but then suddenly DARK SOULS. And my modding experience is very limited.

    I have been looking and asking on the forums about mods that bring realism (and removal of the vanilla cartoon colors)to the units and saw that you have included this re-texture mini mod as an option in DMS -- but is it currently compatible in the version for Fall of the Samurai?

    And if so, what other realism re-textures are done on the FotS units?

    If not, this is what I would most wish for, in answer to this thread's particular query. I was waiting to buy FotS (I don't have Shogun II at all) until I found evidence of mods of this caliber that do away with vanilla's tendency for cartoonish things. Thank you.

    Do you think you could make the CAI more likely to build railway stations? At the moment it's very hard to get a long railway line going because even if you build railway stations your allies just seem to randomly decide whether to or not and instead you just get the odd railway dotted around Japan.

    The other thing that bugs me is a quirk of the battle AI. When it's assaulting you in a siege and it has cavalry it will just sit them in their deployment zone and do nothing. Even after the fighting around the castle is finished, if you've fought off the attack you often have to go out and rout all the cavalry units hanging around, unless you have the patience to wait for the battle to end. Which I do not.

    I second the railway suggestion above ^.

    Also, could you mod the stats a bit so that firearm units are a bit more varied? As is, standard line infantry vs. Tosa Red Bear infantry is a 2 increase in reload skill for an extra 300~ koku. Imperial infantry get something like a 4 bonus for an extra 400~ koku. I am aware that they get a bit of melee ability, but some uniqueness in firing capabilities would be cool, too.

    The vanilla cav did this but stopped in darthmod for some reason...

    Really? It was doing it in v3.6 for me, I haven't had a chance to try v3.8 yet though. Horray if it's been fixed

    I recently was in a siege where the Edo cavalry looked like they were doing this... then eventually they charged in, dismounted, and scaled the walls. It does seem to have been fixed by our dark overlord Darth.

    So the siege bug is fixed eventually by my new formations? Can others concur?
    (I have ready another variation of DarthMod formations not yet published which should eradicate this possibility)

    Darth - I'd submit that the Coastal Defenses of the Military & Trade Ports should be increased. My military drydock should be able to handle a gun boat. Buff their range radius, hit points, and damage inflicted.

    First of all 3.8 is now stable with no random campaign freezes, since i have 5 computers i installed different patches and version of shogun 2 and Fots to test 3.8 compared to 3.7 and 3.8 has no campaign problems xD. Also i like the idea how the artillery is less accurate but with experience it gets a lot better.

    Second is the launcher alot of people are thinking that the asterisk is the option you've selected for the game, which is not so maybe have a note on the launcher.

    Now third will probably help people the most is improving game performance and able to make the graphics better,

    Also - Could Darth make the mod "FoTS: proper language " either be part of the mod or then be at least so that, I can have this working alongside Darthmod, since right now, DM overrides the user.script done by the language mod.

    *edit* Along the Warriors cannon sounds, seem bit.. quiet? The other ships have their cannon sounds on just fine level but warrior doesn't. Could this be looked at?

    You can add the mod in the DM userscript by using the "edit script" button in the launcher.

    I would love to see it integrated though. It's a very nice mod.

    Idk if its possible but i think that foreign ironclads should be manned by those countries people, kinda weird that the warrior is manned by Japanese but the unit speech is clearly English.

    Hmh.. For my Warrior, most of the personnel seem to be British, but there's some Japanese aboard.

    Not sure if it has been mentioned, but the cannon ball firing arcs are a joke... Parrot guns firing like catapults... Can this be fixed at all? Cheers

    After having played a few FotS campaigns, I've found a distinct lack in variety when it comes to both general and specialist retainers. For example, Shinobi are pretty much only getting a choice between +1 Assassination and a combo of escape chance or line of sight. Foreign Vets get +5% to Rifle Reload and the occasional +5 accuracy.

    Basically, something along the lines of +% movement speed to embedded armies would be nice for those two types and the General retainers could use some variety as well - something more geared towards governing (I know they're not governors, but let's make an example out of "Foreign Civil Engineer - +1 Command while besieged, -5% construction costs in province where General is) and defending settlements maybe?

    If you need ideas for retainers, drop me a PM, because I have a lot of them thought up.
